Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.25m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 331 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the seventh yacht built on the 37 Metre Yacht design. She was delivered to her owners in June 2009.

Exterior Design

Mercy is a 37m (121ft) Sunseeker 37M tri-deck motor yacht with exterior design and naval architecture by Don Shead. The profile is sharp and low, with raked bridge glazing and stepped aft decks that give it a clear performance edge in its stance. A deep blue hull contrasts with a white superstructure, while long bands of glazing break up the volume and keep the lines clean.

The layout spreads across three full exterior decks. The sundeck centres on a large jacuzzi, framed by sunpads forward and a proper social zone aft with a bar, refrigeration, cooktop and U-shaped seating. A retractable shade adds cover when needed. Midships seating keeps this deck usable at speed as well as at anchor.

The bridge deck aft is set up for dining, with a large table and loose lounge seating around it. This space links directly to the skylounge, so it works as an extension of the interior rather than a separate zone. Forward, the bow has a sunpad and built-in seating, so it serves as a quieter area away from the main decks.

At water level, the transom folds down to create a wide swim platform with direct access to the garage. Inflatable platforms extend the usable space out over the water, so the whole stern becomes a proper beach setup. Boarding is handled via a passerelle and midship gates, which keeps access practical in different mooring setups.

Mercy offers a warm interior with a piano-equipped sky lounge, six flexible cabins, and a spacious saloon.

Interior Design

The interior follows a darker, more grounded palette than many yachts in this size range. Timber joinery, deep tones and gloss finishes give the main deck a more enclosed, private feel, balanced by large windows that bring in light when needed.

The main saloon is arranged with opposing sofas and loose chairs, set around a central coffee table. A TV lifts from a concealed unit, so the space shifts easily between lounge and cinema. The layout favours conversation rather than a fixed viewing angle, which makes better use of the room.

Forward, the formal dining area sits in its own defined zone, with a large table for up to 10 guests. Side deck access sits close by, which allows crew to move between galley and dining without crossing the main living space.

The galley sits off a service corridor and includes full-height refrigeration, wall ovens, and an island cooktop. A pantry with wine storage and ice maker supports service. This is a working galley, set up for proper use rather than occasional catering.

Up on the bridge deck, the skylounge takes a different tone. It is lighter, more relaxed, and built for informal use. A large TV, bar, and flexible seating layout make it suitable for family use, with enough space to reconfigure for different groups or activities.

Accommodation

Mercy accommodates up to 12 guests across six cabins, with crew quarters for eight positioned forward and kept separate from guest areas.

The owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck and uses the full beam. It includes a king-size bed, lounge space, a walk-in wardrobe, and a split-level en suite. The bathroom has twin basins, a bath, a walk-in shower with bench, and separate toilet and bidet. Large windows bring in light without compromising privacy.

On the lower deck, four guest cabins handle the main guest load. Two twins sit forward, each with Pullman berths and the option to convert into doubles. Aft, two VIP cabins use angled layouts to increase floor space, each with double beds, strong storage, and full en suites.

The sixth cabin sits on the bridge deck and can serve as a VIP or captain’s cabin. Its position near the skylounge gives it a different feel from the lower deck cabins, with better views and more separation.

Crew accommodation is accessed via a dedicated stairwell forward and includes cabins, mess, and service areas arranged for discreet operation.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M90) 2,735hp engines running at 2100rpm, motor yacht Mercy is capable of reaching a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 16 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

Mercy features a sleek navy blue hull, sporty foredeck, and semi-displacement hull for high performance.
