Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.98m beam and a 2.29m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 299 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Short Story is a 37.2m (122ft) Horizon RP120 with exterior styling by Juan Carlos Espinosa, and she carries the long, flowing profile that defines Horizon’s raised pilothouse line. Her metallic silver-grey hull sits under a white superstructure, while the dark, continuous glazing softens the height of the yacht and gives the whole profile a cleaner, faster look. From the images, the sweep of the window line is one of the key visual traits here, especially through the main deck saloon and raised pilothouse, so the yacht feels low and stretched despite her interior volume.

The main deck aft is arranged as a proper outdoor entertaining space with dining and lounge seating directly outside the saloon, and the open stern leads down toward the swim platform for easier sea access. The foredeck is also put to use, with sunpads and built-in seating that turn the bow into a second guest zone, so there is usable deck space at both ends of the yacht rather than all the emphasis sitting aft.

Up on the flybridge, Short Story has the kind of layout that suits long days outside. A circular spa pool sits aft, with surrounding sun loungers and open lounging space, while a bar and dining area sit under the protection of a hardtop with an opening sunroof. That mix of shade and open sky gives the deck more range through the day, and it also makes the flybridge the yacht’s main social deck when guests want to stay outside.

The stern arrangement adds another practical layer. The beach club uses a hydraulic stern section and integrated storage, so the aft end of the yacht works as more than a boarding point. It becomes a proper launch area for time in the water, and that matters on a yacht built for Bahamas and Caribbean cruising.

Interior Design

Inside, Luca Dini’s interior keeps things contemporary and calm, with a light, polished palette that works well with the broad window areas. The main saloon is open-plan, so lounging and dining share one full-beam volume, and the wide glazing on both sides brings in strong natural light. In the image provided, the dining area sits forward with the lounge stretching aft, and the space reads as long, bright, and clearly arranged without visual clutter.

The styling relies on soft neutral upholstery, pale wall panels, and warm timber detailing. Vertical timber slats frame sections of the saloon and dining joinery, adding structure without closing the space down. Furniture stays low and wide, so sightlines remain open across the room and out through the windows.

The dining area is set for 10 around a dark timber table, which adds contrast against the lighter finishes around it. This darker tone helps define the dining zone within the open-plan layout, while keeping a consistent material language with the surrounding cabinetry.

The galley is positioned separately and fitted to a professional standard, with large work surfaces, integrated appliances, and extensive storage. From the image, it is a sizeable, functional space with a central island and deep cabinetry, designed to support full-time crew service rather than act as a guest social area.

Accommodation

Short Story accommodates up to 10 guests in five staterooms, with the owner’s suite on the main deck and four guest cabins below. That arrangement makes good use of the yacht’s 7.98m (26.2ft) beam, and it gives the owner the privacy and stature of an on-deck suite while keeping the guest accommodation together on the lower deck.

The owner’s suite benefits from its main-deck position and broad views, so it feels more connected to the yacht’s main living spaces without losing privacy. The suite is designed as the principal cabin on board, and the layout gives it the kind of scale expected on a yacht in this size bracket.

Below deck, two VIP suites and two twin cabins complete the guest layout. This gives Short Story a flexible arrangement for family use or charter, because couples can take the VIPs while the twins work for children, friends, or mixed guest groups. Each cabin has its own en suite, so the guest accommodation keeps a proper sense of privacy throughout.

Crew quarters sit aft of the engine room, and the arrangement allows for up to five crew. That separation helps preserve guest privacy, while also supporting smoother service on longer passages or busy charter schedules.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32A) 1,900hp engines, motor yacht Short Story is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 30,283 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,100 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

Amenities

In addition, adjoining the water, a beach club lets those on board enjoy the feeling of being close to the sea. The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down. Short Story also features an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
