The Horizon ES88 is now approaching delivery to an experienced Australian owner, returning to the yard for a sixth build.
Developed as a bespoke evolution of Horizon’s E Series, the ES88 introduces a more sport-focused design direction while retaining the platform’s emphasis on interior efficiency. The project was styled by Cor D. Rover, a long-time collaborator with the shipyard, who has given the yacht a clean, contemporary profile defined by sharp lines and a restrained all-white finish.
Built Around a Sixth-Time Horizon Owner
The Horizon yacht stands apart as a fully tailored build shaped by an owner with clear priorities. Described as an active angler, the owner has influenced several key features across the yacht, particularly in the aft sections.
The aft deck integrates a professional fishing setup, including a live-bait well, custom rod holders, and heavy-duty storage. A dedicated tender garage has also been adapted to support this lifestyle, accommodating both the tender and specialist equipment. A hydraulic swim platform extends the usable space at the waterline, reinforcing the yacht’s focus on practical, hands-on use.
This level of customization reflects a broader shift within this size category, where repeat clients are increasingly using semi-custom platforms as a base for highly personalized layouts and features.
Outdoor Living with Purpose
Exterior spaces on KEΦI are designed with a clear emphasis on usability. The foredeck includes a sunbathing area with folding sunpads and integrated lighting, creating a flexible space that can shift between daytime and evening use.
Aft, the main deck functions as an outdoor dining area, equipped with a full service kitchen that includes a teppanyaki grill, barbecue, fridge drawers, and an ice maker. An electric retractable awning provides shade when required, extending the usability of the space across different conditions.
A dayhead positioned near the swim platform adds further practicality, particularly for guests moving between water activities and the main deck.
Clean Layout Anchors the Main Living Spaces
Inside, the superyacht is arranged around a continuous main deck layout that prioritizes openness and usability. The salon features curved seating set around a marble-topped walnut coffee table, with a concealed drop-down television maintaining clean sightlines when not in use.
A dining area sits forward, centered on a marble table with titanium and walnut detailing, before leading into an open galley. Here, darker tones take over - matte grey cabinetry, high-gloss Koto wood louvers, and stone countertops create contrast against the lighter finishes seen in the main lounge.
Vinyl wood flooring runs throughout the deck, visually extending the space, while a matte white and leatherette ceiling keeps the overall look controlled and consistent.
Accommodation on board the motor yacht is arranged across the lower deck. The master stateroom includes a 65-inch drop-down television, turning the cabin into a private cinema, alongside an en suite finished with white quartz surfaces and matte black fittings. A forward VIP cabin provides a second high-quality guest space.
A Pilothouse Designed for Work and Passage
The wheelhouse continues the yacht’s dual-purpose approach. Finished in black leatherette, it has a more technical feel, with twin electric helm chairs positioned beneath an opening sunroof that introduces natural light and ventilation.
Adjacent to the helm, a customized L-shaped seating area with a hi-lo table has been configured as a private offshore office. This setup allows the owner to remain engaged in both navigation and work while underway, a detail that aligns with the practical brief behind the yacht.
KEΦI is powered by twin MAN V12 engines rated at 2000 horsepower, delivering the performance expected of a yacht positioned within the sporty end of Horizon’s range.
Positioning Within Horizon’s Lineup
The ES88 arrives at a time of steady activity for the Taiwanese builder. According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database, Horizon currently has 14 yachts over 24m either on order or in build. Recent developments for the yard also include the debut of its first FD100 Tri-Deck Skyline configuration. Within this context, the ES88 signals a continued focus on adaptable platforms that can support a high degree of owner input.
As a build shaped by a repeat client, KEΦI highlights how yards are using established series as a foundation for more individualized projects - particularly in the sub-30-meter segment, where flexibility and efficiency remain central to buyer demand.
