Known as superyacht Pangea, the Amels 80 introduces a fresh design direction for the shipyard, bringing together proven platform efficiency, expanded customization potential, and a focus on sustainable technology.
Sold in 2022 just six months after the design was introduced, the Amels yacht is the largest model in the Limited Editions range to date. With naval architecture by Damen Yachting and exterior design by Espen Øino, the 80-meter yacht features a 12.5-meter (41-foot) beam and a gross tonnage of 2,175 GT. The yacht offers a top range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots and is scheduled for delivery in summer 2025.

Burgess managed the build on behalf of the owner, who played an active role in shaping the project’s direction. “As the first 80-meter Limited Editions, this yacht has evolved into something truly extraordinary through the owner's vision and meticulous input,” said Sean Bianchi, Head of Burgess Technical Services. He added that the yacht’s bespoke interior and distinctive exterior styling make it immediately recognizable.
Flexible Layout and Standout Features
Accommodation onboard the superyacht is arranged across seven suites for up to 14 guests, supported by a crew of 21 including the captain. Highlights include a private Owner’s Deck, a 200-square-meter Sun Deck, and a 6.5-meter swimming pool. The yacht also features a helipad on the foredeck and a full wellness-focused Beach Club with a spa, sauna, hammam, gym, and massage room.
The interior is the result of a first-time collaboration between Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and Amels. The design emphasizes natural materials, soft tones, and a fluid transition between spaces. “You will feel at home from the moment you step on board,” said Paul Costerus, Interior Designer at Sinot.
Hybrid Propulsion and Sustainable Focus
The Amels 80 is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system that reduces emissions and noise while increasing fuel efficiency—part of Damen Yachting’s push toward more sustainable performance. “This yacht is the ultimate balance of individuality and efficiency,” said Adriaan Roose, Product Design Manager for the series.
Speaking at the launch, Damen Yachting Managing Director Rose Damen said the project marks a milestone for the shipyard. “We are honored and excited to see the final phase through to delivery,” she said.
