Italian builder Itama developed the 16m model as a modern evolution of its signature open design, pairing high performance with updated deck ergonomics and storage solutions.
A Fresh Take on the Iconic Itama Style
The Itama 54 retains the clean, pared-back aesthetic that defines the Italian builder’s range while introducing new elements aimed at improving functionality and liveability. Exterior styling, developed by Tommaso De Luca in collaboration with Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee and Engineering Department, features an integrated foredeck sun pad and a reverse transom design that increases storage capacity beneath the aft sun pad.
Side deck access to the boat has been repositioned to starboard, improving movement forward while keeping the hatch open when accessing the lower deck.
A major change for the Itama 54 is the introduction of a dual-cockpit layout. The aft cockpit retains Itama’s hallmark sun pad and dining area, while a second cockpit has been created behind the windscreen.
Practical and Elegant Interiors
Below deck, the layout comprises a forward master cabin, a guest cabin amidships, two bathrooms, and a galley with adjacent dinette. The guest cabin can be configured with a queen bed or bunk beds, providing flexibility for different cruising needs.
Built from GRP with a planing hull, the Itama 54 yacht is equipped with twin MAN i6-730 engines as standard, delivering a top speed of 33 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots. An upgraded MAN i6-850 option increases maximum speed to 37 knots and cruising speed to 33 knots. The yacht also features a redesigned submersible swim platform for improved ergonomics at the water’s edge.
First revealed as a project at BOOT Düsseldorf earlier in 2025, the Itama 54 is now in production and will be presented to the public for the first time at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The model extends Itama’s presence in the core open cruiser category while introducing new solutions for comfort, storage, and social spaces.
How the Itama 54 Fits Within the Current Itama Line-Up
According to YachtBuyer Market Watch, the world's largest yacht database, Itama currently has three other models in production: the 45RS, the 62RS, and the 75.
Compared with the 14m Itama 45RS, which is best suited to dayboating or short weekend trips, the 54 offers two cabins and additional deck areas, making it more practical for longer stays while still retaining the brand’s open-yacht appeal.
Against the 19m Itama 62RS, the 54 is more compact and easier to handle but shares the same focus on sleek lines and strong performance, with the 62RS providing greater cabin space for up to six guests and top speeds reaching 40 knots. The flagship Itama 75, at 24m, offers the most luxury and accommodation, with up to four guest cabins, extensive cockpit seating, and a 45-knot top speed powered by twin 1,800 hp engines.
For owners seeking a balance of speed, style, and liveability without stepping up to the size and crew requirements of the 62RS or 75, the Itama 54 represents a versatile choice. It combines the agile handling of the 45RS with more onboard comfort, appealing to those who want an open yacht capable of both social day cruising and extended coastal adventures.
The Itama 54’s CYF debut expands the brand’s open sportsboat range with a balance of speed, comfort, and modern design. Positioned between the 45RS, 62RS, and 75, it gives buyers a versatile mid-size option with more space and practicality.
