The Sunreef Ultima 88 will join Messi's MIM Ocean fleet, based in the Balearic Islands. The order introduces the footballer to Sunreef's Ultima range of power catamarans, with the yacht intended to provide an exclusive experience for guests cruising in the Mediterranean.
Lionel Messi joins Sunreef Yachts
Messi expressed his enthusiasm for the new catamaran, highlighting his family's enjoyment of spending time on the water.
"It's a real pleasure to join the Sunreef family. My family and I have always loved spending time at sea whenever we get the chance," said Messi.
"Sunreef Yachts have the style and features I really like, and they're a perfect fit for what I'm looking for. I'm really looking forward to experiencing the ULTIMA 88 and enjoying it with my family."
A delivery date for the new yacht has not yet been announced.
Contemporary catamaran exterior
The Ultima 88 features a contemporary twin-hull profile, with sweeping dark glazing, a white superstructure and navy-blue detailing along the hulls. The yacht features an aft cockpit that opens onto a broad swim platform, with steps connecting the different levels and creating access to the water. Above, the flybridge provides additional seating beneath a hardtop, while the forward deck offers further outdoor space. The yacht also carries MIM Ocean branding across its exterior.
Light-filled interior design
The interior images of the motor yacht reveal a contemporary arrangement with pale timber flooring, warm wood cabinetry and neutral upholstery. Large windows surround the main saloon, where lounge seating is arranged around curved coffee tables, with sculptural armchairs and recessed ceiling lighting adding softer details. An adjoining dining area sits alongside an open galley with a marble-effect island, while sliding glass doors connect the interior with the aft cockpit.
Designed for life on the water
Sunreef describes the Ultima 88 as a yacht designed around open, adaptable spaces and a close connection with the sea. The catamaran's wide beam allows the main-deck living areas to extend across both hulls, while the arrangement places social spaces close to the exterior decks.
The shipyard has not yet disclosed the cabin arrangement, propulsion system or performance specifications for Messi's yacht. Further details may be announced as construction progresses.
