On Board Review

Riva 112 Dolcevita Super Review (2025 Edition)

Has Riva perfected the Dolcevita formula? The 112 Super builds on one of the yard’s most admired models with a longer hull, larger glazing, and a completely reworked beach club that drops you right to the waterline.

The Riva 112 Dolcevita Super is the latest flybridge yacht to launch from Riva’s La Spezia yard and the successor to the 110 Dolcevita. At 34.37m (112 ft 9 in) long, it carries the same profile but gains new deck structures and a redesigned interior that bring it closer to the sea in every sense.

The beach club and those new terraces might garner most of the attention, but what really matters is how they change the experience on board. Has Riva just made a bigger Dolcevita, or a better one?

Design & Build

The 112 Dolcevita Super follows directly from the Riva 110 Dolcevita, using the same construction and layout principles but with longer hull lines and reworked deck structures to create more space at the waterline. The yacht is built in La Spezia, where Riva produces all of its 70-130 ft models.

The design comes from Officina Italiana Design, run by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, in partnership with the Ferretti Group Engineering Department and Piero Ferrari’s Strategic Product Committee.

The look is familiar, long side glazing, polished stainless trim, and that low flybridge profile, but the aft section is stretched and reshaped. It still measures 7.27m (23ft 10in) across the beam, but length grows to 34.37m (112ft 9in), adding internal volume without changing the proportions that define the Dolcevita range.

The hull and superstructure remain GRP with carbon reinforcement. Weight rises slightly to around 130 tonnes (286,600lb) unladen, but the performance has stayed in line with the 110.

The biggest change is at the stern. The 110 had one fold-down platform. The 112 adds two side balconies and a 35sq/m (377sq/ft) beach club that sits just above the water. A wide sunpad runs across the transom with ventilated storage for two Seabobs behind it, and the garage below still takes a tender (5m/16ft 4in) and a jet ski. The passerelle extends as a staircase into the sea, so when the toys are out, the whole area turns into a proper lounge at water level.

The cockpit above is about 24 sq/m (258 sq/ft) and can be arranged with loose furniture or a dining setup. The design encourages an easy link between this shaded deck and the open area below.

Inside, the layout carries over the open feel of the 110 but now allows for two main-deck options. The first layout, used on the launch yacht, places the dining area aft and the lounge amidships. The second switches them around. Both take advantage of the near floor-to-ceiling windows that run the length of the saloon. The structure supporting the glazing, a stainless “spider frame” introduced on the 110, remains the same.

The 112 uses high-gloss rosewood and black hammered leather for wall and trim finishes. The owner’s suite forward has larger hull windows and a new entrance area with a walk-in wardrobe. The four lower-deck guest cabins keep the same footprint as before, but with better sound insulation and flooring that softens noise through the hull.

Interior Accommodation

The saloon feels open and bright, with full-height windows on both sides and the same rosewood and stainless detailing that runs through the rest of the boat. The furniture is free-standing, so it can be arranged however you like, and this yacht has the dining area aft and the lounge amidships, but the layout can be reversed if you prefer.

The light in here is superb. Even with boats moored on either side, you still get that soft reflection off the water running through the cabin. The side doors open on both sides, which is great for natural airflow and gives another way out to the deck.

At the forward end of the saloon, a stairway leads down to the guest cabins, and to port, there’s a lobby with a day head. The detailing through here is classic Riva with glossy rosewood, stainless edging, and a deep mirror polish that catches every bit of light. Think of the crew and the amount of polishing required, though!

Forward again, a doorway leads into the owner’s suite, but before reaching it, there’s a neat foyer with built-in storage and the walk-in wardrobes to either side. Crew access runs forward to starboard, linking directly to the galley, which is tucked neatly behind the helm area. It’s bright, practical, and fully equipped, with induction cooking, an oven, a wine fridge, and a big fridge-freezer.

Owner's Cabin

Forward on the main deck is the owner’s suite. It’s a lovely full-beam space, with big windows on either side. The glazing has been enlarged, and it makes a huge difference to the atmosphere in here.

There’s a walk-in wardrobe on each side, one slightly larger than the other, so there’s plenty of hanging space if you’re on board for longer trips. To port, there’s a small bureau built into the cabinetry for somewhere to work or just sit with a laptop.

The bed faces aft, leaving room on the bulkhead for a large television, and the joinery around it has that deep rosewood finish that runs through the rest of the yacht. The light leather and the stainless detailing lift the space so it still feels bright even with the darker timber.

Behind the bed, a doorway leads through to the bathroom, which runs full-beam across the front. It’s finished in marble with twin sinks, good storage, and a large walk-in shower with a window looking out to sea. The shower even has a built-in bench and a rain head, so it feels like a proper bathroom, not just a cubicle.

Guest Cabins

The lower deck has four guest cabins, all ensuite, arranged in two pairs: two forward and two amidships.

Starting forward on the port side, the first cabin has a central double berth, a small bureau in the corner, and a run of mirrored storage along the wall. The hull window sits just above the waterline, so even from the bed, you catch the light shifting outside. The bathroom is finished in marble and rosewood with a full shower cubicle, giving it the same feel as the owner’s suite.

Opposite, the starboard cabin mirrors the layout but swaps the bureau for a Pullman berth above the bed, giving an extra bunk if it’s needed. The rest of the space stays uncluttered, with a large TV opposite the bed and the same calm detailing as the cabin across the corridor.

Moving amidships, the two cabins here are identical. Each has a double bed, large hull windows, and a small built-in desk. The bathrooms are slightly larger here, with a full shower, toilet, bidet and marble surfaces.

Crew Area

Access to the crew areas is from the galley on the main deck, down a private stairway to the lower level. There's a compact crew mess with a dinette, small sofa and a fold-out table. It’s bright for this part of the boat, helped by a porthole that opens for fresh air. There’s a screen on the bulkhead for monitoring systems and a TV for downtime between shifts.

The mess links neatly to a small prep area with a sink, microwave, and fridge - which is enough for making snacks or drinks when the main galley is closed. Laundry facilities sit opposite, with a washer and dryer stacked one above the other.

Forward of here, the captain’s cabin is set to port, fitted with a single berth, private bathroom, and a small desk with a screen so the skipper can keep an eye on systems while off watch. Opposite are two twin bunk cabins, each with its own ensuite. The bunks are nicely spaced and there’s good headroom, so even this forward section feels usable rather than tight.

Altogether there’s space for five crew, with separate access routes and enough comfort for long trips on board.

Helm Station

The 112 Dolcevita Super runs a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, each producing 2,638hp. Its top speed is around 25.5 knots, and it will cruise comfortably at 23 knots. At that pace, range sits at about 400nm, depending on load and conditions. Ease the throttles back to displacement speed, and the range will stretch much further.

Flybridge Helm

The twin seats are bolstered so you can stand and lean, or drop them down and sit for longer passages. The position feels natural as there's good visibility ahead and an easy reach to the wheel and throttles. The screens are clear, the layout simple, and it all feels solid.

It’s the best spot to drive from when the weather’s good. You get the full view and the sense of speed, but it’s comfortable too. The lower helm is the place for the longer or night passages, but up here, cruising along at 25 knots, this is where you’d want to be.

Main Helm

The main helm sits in the raised pilothouse, just forward of the galley. It’s a compact, enclosed area with wide side windows and a single piece of glass across the front. The view through that screen is more like a letterbox than a panorama, however.

There are three different navigation setups available. The standard layout uses four 19-inch displays, the premium has four 26-inch units, and the Super Premium package, fitted here, replaces them with two 49-inch bonded screens. The resolution is crisp, and you can mix radar, charts, and engine data across the displays. Everything is touch-controlled and fast to respond, with manual switches just below for the main systems.

All the engine information, alarms, and tank levels run through the same interface, so it’s easy to keep track of the yacht from this one position. The wheel sits low and solid, with throttles to the right and thruster controls just ahead. A small dinette to port gives the captain or crew somewhere to sit during longer passages, and the finish here is the same deep rosewood used throughout the yacht.

On Deck

The stern opens out into a wide, multi-level space right at the waterline. The central sunpad stretches across the transom, with ventilated lockers tucked behind it for two Seabobs. Below, the tender garage carries a 5m (16ft 4in) tender and a jet ski, launched on a submersible platform that lowers smoothly down. The passerelle folds down to form a set of teak steps, so it works as both a gangway and a swim ladder.

With the side terraces folded out, the deck spreads to about 35sq/m (377sq/ft) and sits almost flush with the water. It feels more like a private terrace than a platform. When the garage is closed and the toys are away, it becomes a lovely open area for sunbathing or sitting close to the sea, with the water lapping just a few inches beneath your feet.

A few steps up from the beach club, the cockpit feels relaxed and open. The furniture here is freestanding, so it can be set up however you want. Shade comes from the deck above, and with the breeze coming straight through from the stern, it’s a cool spot to watch everything happening at the water.

There’s a bar built into the forward section with a sink and fridge underneath, which is useful for drinks when you’re outside for most of the day. Under another lid, there’s a small third control station with throttles, bow and stern thrusters, all the stuff you need when mooring stern-to.

Side Decks & Foredeck

The side decks are wide and easy to move along, with solid guardrails and smooth teak underfoot. On the port side is the guest passage, while the starboard side is used by crew, so everyone has their own clear route around the boat. Midway along, there’s a boarding gate - useful when you’re tied to a high quay, letting you step straight off instead of walking right aft.

Further forward, sliding doors on both sides open from the saloon, so you can step straight out for some air or to cross to the other side. There’s also a crew door forward on the starboard side, giving quick access from their quarters to the working deck.

A short run of steps leads up onto the foredeck, which is spread across two gentle levels. At the top is a deep C-shaped sofa with a table in the centre, and ahead of that a wide sunpad. Shade poles can be fitted here if you want cover, but it’s a great place for full sun through the day.

The lower level hides one of the neatest details on board: a Jacuzzi underneath sliding panels. When it’s covered, it looks like another part of the sunpad, but slide the top forward and the hot tub appears. The mooring gear sits just beyond, all neatly recessed with a pair of windlasses and a freshwater shower built into the deck.

Up on the flybridge, the first thing you notice is the bar. It’s got bar stools across the front, a raised plinth behind, and a full working top with a sink, fridge, and grill built in. The surfaces have the carbon-fibre look Riva likes to use, and there’s loads of prep space for drinks or lunch.

Just aft, there’s a big open deck that’s left clear for loose furniture. You can have sun loungers, a couple of sofas, or just keep it open as a place to sit and watch the wake stretch out behind. The space feels long and uncluttered, and with the railings kept low, the view is all sea.

Under the hardtop, there’s the dining area, with a polished Riva table that really shows off the detailing. It seats eight, and there’s room to pull up a few director’s chairs if needed. The bar is close enough to serve both the dining table and the lounge behind, so it all works as one big entertainment area.

Engine Room

Access to the engine room is through a door on the starboard side deck. A short ladder leads down into a small anteroom that houses the backup steering and a screen for the boat’s systems. From there, a watertight door opens into the main machinery space.

Even with the low aft deck above, the headroom is excellent. You can walk comfortably between the engines, and there’s clear access to all the main systems. The twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines sit side by side, with generators mounted neatly on both sides. Every major service point is easy to reach, and the space is brightly lit so you can see what you’re doing.

The engineering is very classic Ferretti Group; all tidy wiring, solid mechanics, and good ventilation throughout. The yacht runs on a full stabilisation package with twin fins for use underway and two gyros for when it’s at anchor. Despite the amount of equipment down here, it doesn’t feel cramped. Everything has its place, and you can tell the space has been designed for proper maintenance access.

Value For Money

Though Riva wouldn't supply pricing for the 112 Dolcevita, you can be reasonably certain that there will be a "Riva Premium" in play here. That's what you get when you buy into one of the most recognised boating brands on the planet.

Rest assured, though, you're not simply paying for the name. The quality and attention to detail on board is truly impressive, as is the emphasis that the engineers have put into the boat's performance. They're cost options, of course, but having a 100ft+ yacht that is capable of 25 knots and stabilised with both gyros and fins should make for outstanding ride comfort in most sea states.

Speaking of engineering, when you buy a Riva, you are getting the might of Ferretti Group's engineering know-how, too, so yes, it looks pretty, but the underpinnings are top drawer.

Our Verdict

It’s easy to think the 112 Dolcevita Super is just a small update, but the changes go a fair bit deeper than that. The new aft deck and terraces have completely changed how this yacht feels at anchor. The beach club now works as a proper living space, close to the water, with easy access for swimming and toys.

Above, every deck feels open and usable - the flybridge for long lunches, the foredeck for quiet evenings, the cockpit for shade and a breeze off the water. Inside, the larger glazing and new layout options make the main deck brighter and more flexible.

It still looks and feels like a Riva, but now it gives you more space to enjoy that feeling.

The YachtBuyer Score provides a clear, category-by-category assessment of how the yacht performs in the areas that matter most. In this review, the Riva 112 DolceVita Super receives an overall rating of 5 out of 5 stars and has been inducted into the YachtBuyer Hall of Fame 2025.

Rivals to Consider

The Sunseeker 100 Yacht sits close in size to the Riva at 29.85m (97 ft 11 in) but carries a very different approach to layout and use of space. It’s an all-GRP planing yacht powered by twin MTU 12V 2000 M96X engines, delivering a top speed of around 29 knots and a cruise near 20 knots. Guest accommodation covers five cabins for up to 10 guests, including a main-deck owner suite with a private bow terrace - a signature feature of this model. Crew accommodation aft sleeps five across three cabins with a separate mess and direct access to the engine room. The standout element is the upper-deck design, which connects the flybridge directly to the foredeck through a walkaround layout, creating one continuous social space across the top of the yacht. The styling, by Sunseeker’s in-house design team, blends sharp, modern lines with large glass sections and a lighter, more open interior feel aimed squarely at both owner-operators or charter.

At 35.6m (116 ft 10 in) overall, the Ocean Alexander 35P sits close in size to the Riva but carries a very different brief. It’s built in GRP with a plumb bow and long, glazed superstructure that leans more towards an explorer aesthetic. The interior is spread over three decks, with accommodation for 10 guests in five cabins, including a main-deck owner’s suite. Crew quarters forward sleep six in three cabins, plus a captain’s cabin adjacent to the wheelhouse. Power comes from twin MTU 16V 2000 M96 engines for a top speed of around 24 knots and a cruise at 18 knots, with long-range fuel capacity allowing for over 2,000nm at lower speeds.

The Benetti Oasis 34M takes a contrasting approach, prioritising open living and social flow. At 34.36m (112ft 9in), it matches the Riva’s length but uses the full beam differently - pushing the Oasis Deck aft, with folding terraces and an infinity pool built directly into the transom. Guest accommodation totals five cabins for 10 guests, with a crew complement of seven. Power is from twin MAN V12 1400 engines, giving a top speed of 16 knots and a cruise of 13-14 knots, but efficiency and range take precedence here, with 2,700 nautical miles possible at displacement speeds. The design by RWD and Benetti’s in-house team mixes casual beach-house style with practical superyacht detailing, aimed at owners who spend more time at anchor than underway.

The Mangusta GranSport 33 is smaller at 33.3m (109ft 2in) but sits in the same high-performance flybridge category. Designed by Alberto Mancini and built in composite by Overmarine, it combines long & low proportions with a sportier brief - 35 knots top speed from twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines and waterjet propulsion. Accommodation covers five cabins for up to 12 guests, including a forward main-deck master, with space for five crew below. The interior can be finished to owner taste but is generally lighter and more minimalist than the Riva’s rosewood aesthetic.
