Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.6m beam and a 2.85m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 760 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in August 2025 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Heesen's Oss yard in Netherlands where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.
Exterior Design
Project Frida is a 55m (180.4ft) steel superyacht in Heesen’s acclaimed 55-metre Steel series, combining long-range capability with the strength and precision of Dutch engineering. Her fast-displacement steel hull, developed by Van Oossanen and refined in-house, balances performance and stability. Built to Large Yacht Code 3 (LY3), she is engineered for safe, ocean-crossing independence.
Her lines by Omega Architects combine sharp geometry with purposeful simplicity. The “shark tooth” wheelhouse overhang defines her silhouette, while continuous tinted glass replaces earlier vertical windows, creating a cleaner, more modern look and uninterrupted sea views. The superstructure’s absence of pillars enhances that openness, blending muscular presence with crisp refinement. The hull’s smooth white finish, long glazing bands, and balanced overhangs give Frida a commanding profile.
The sundeck is arranged for all-day use, with a large whirlpool surrounded by sunpads, a bar, and modular lounges that shift easily from sunbathing to evening dining. A built-in sofa forward of the bridge forms a sheltered retreat in port. The foredeck stores the tender and toys beneath a crane that doubles as a navigation mast, freeing the stern for a beach club. Wide steps link the club to the fixed swim platform, creating a direct flow from sea to deck. The bridge deck aft terrace connects to the sky lounge, designed as an open-air continuation of the interior. Flexible furniture allows different layouts for meals, drinks, or quiet relaxation. Every element is engineered for clear sightlines and an effortless link between deck and ocean - exactly what Omega’s Frank Laupman intended when he stripped away the visual barriers of earlier designs.
Interior Design
The interior, by Luca Dini Design and Architecture, reimagines classic yacht luxury through a modern lens. Silvia Margutti’s concept pairs natural wengé with sycamore and Calcite Blue stone, echoing the richness of vintage liners while keeping the spaces bright and contemporary. The tone is calm, tactile, and finely balanced—formal enough for reception, yet warm enough for extended living.
The 77sqm main salon combines dining and lounging beneath full-height windows. Club sofas face coffee tables, framed by inlaid metal detailing and chevron-patterned doors handcrafted by Heesen Yachts Interiors in Winterswijk. A bespoke display cabinet holds fine glassware like a small gallery, anchoring the room’s symmetry. Light fittings are sculptural but restrained, chosen to complement rather than dominate the space.
The bridge-deck sky lounge shifts the mood entirely. It links directly to the aft terrace and serves as the yacht’s informal heart, with a bar, flexible seating, and panoramic glazing that keeps the space bright even in shade. The absence of mullions and the continuation of wengé finishes make the whole area feel expansive and connected to the horizon.
Accommodation
Frida sleeps 12 guests across six suites. The owner’s apartment spans the full beam on the main deck, covering 77 square metres. It includes a private study, a serene bedroom opening onto a secluded veranda, and a large bathroom finished in Calcite Blue stone with antique-textured mirrors and twin basins. A walk-in wardrobe completes the suite, with discreet cabinetry and integrated lighting that echo Heesen’s joinery standards.
Four guest cabins sit on the lower deck: two doubles and two twins, each en suite. The doubles use athwartship beds to open the floor area, while subtle mirrored panels expand the sense of light and space. A sixth cabin is placed on the bridge deck, benefiting from the same materials and mirrored glass that define the main interior palette. Crew spaces follow Heesen’s efficient planning—compact, private, and positioned for smooth service flow between decks.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M63) 1,341hp engines, motor yacht Frida is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 100,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.
