Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 29'6" beam and a 8'2" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 497 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Launched in January 2015 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in February 2015.
Exterior Design
Bijin, the 50m (164ft) Heesen yacht, presents a clean, contemporary silhouette defined by a plumb bow and the layered, forward-raked superstructure typical of Heesen’s Fast Displacement Hull Form design. Her aluminium build combines strength with efficiency, while the hull and superstructure are finished in Matterhorn white with jet-black accents and a fine sunfast red boot stripe, giving her a sharp and modern edge.
Large glass panels line her decks, bringing natural light deep into the interior and connecting guests with the water’s edge. The main and upper aft decks are designed for outdoor living, with wide social areas arranged for comfort and shelter. The upper aft deck includes a large wooden dining table and built-in seating with integrated heating, enclosed by glass panels that shield from wind while maintaining open views.
The sun deck is the highest guest space on board, offering 360° visibility and a relaxed, versatile layout. Sun pads, a height-adjustable wooden table, a teppanyaki grill, and refrigeration create an adaptable entertaining zone that can shift easily between daytime lounging and evening events. A dedicated DJ booth can also be set up for onboard gatherings.
Forward, Bijin’s tenders are stored neatly on the foredeck and can be lifted away to transform the space into a recreation area. Fold-down bulwarks open the deck out to the sea, creating an extended platform for socialising or enjoying open-air views at anchor.
Interior Design
Bijin’s interiors are shaped around a calm, Japandi-inspired design philosophy that merges Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth. Pale woods, clean lines, and neutral fabrics create a serene balance, while tactile materials and subtle contrasts bring quiet depth to each space.
The main salon features warm teak wall panels, cream-toned ceilings, and a relaxed arrangement of modular furniture that can be easily reconfigured. A small service bar provides convenience, fitted with a refrigerator, ice maker, and two removable bar stools.
The Sky Lounge follows the same design rhythm, with marble counters, a leather-clad ceiling, and a soft carpet underfoot. Large windows fill the space with daylight, while an L-shaped sofa and armchairs form a welcoming setting for informal gatherings or movie nights.
Throughout Bijin’s interior, lighter tones and organic textures create a fresh, uncluttered mood. Gentle oriental detailing appears in elements such as the headboards and joinery lines, adding quiet character without disturbing the overall harmony.
Accommodation
Bijin accommodates up to 10 guests in five suites, arranged for privacy and comfort. The lower deck holds three double cabins and one twin, all with individual climate control, AV systems, and finely detailed wood paneling.
The full-beam owner’s suite occupies the forward main deck. Its layout includes a private study and two generous his-and-hers bathrooms that form a buffer zone before the main sleeping area. Large windows flood the cabin with daylight, while the calm palette of natural wood and neutral fabrics reinforces the peaceful, minimalist aesthetic. Integrated storage, a walk-in dressing room, and a lounge-style seating area complete the arrangement.
Accommodation for up to 11 crew is spread across well-equipped service areas, including a crew mess and laundry spaces designed for efficiency and discretion.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M63) 8-cylinder 1,341hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht Bijin is capable of reaching a top speed of 19 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
