Grey Goose I is a 99'11" motor yacht delivered by Italian shipyard AB Yachts in 2022. Her interior design, exterior styling and naval architecture come from the drawing boards of AB Yachts' design team.

Key Features

  • Triple V12 engines give 50 knots
  • Full-beam owner’s stateroom
  • Aft tender garage
  • Seakeeper stabiliser

Design & Construction

Designed around a deep vee GRP hull and superstructure she features a 22'4" beam and a 4'3" draft. The yacht is built over 1 decks with an internal volume of 120 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Launched in May 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2022.

Exterior Design

The AB Yachts 100 makes a confident first impression with its sweeping profile and performance-led styling. Its low, angular lines, compact hardtop, and sporty overhangs reflect the yacht’s high-speed capabilities while preserving a sense of sleek simplicity.

At the stern, a generously sized swim platform offers a comfortable place to relax close to the water. There’s integrated bench seating that faces aft, ideal for watching the action or just soaking up the surroundings. Storage lockers to port and starboard are perfectly sized for watersports gear, including a pair of seabobs. Access to the water is well considered, with a dedicated ladder alongside a large passerelle that extends cleanly from the transom.

The tender garage is one of the standout features here. Its mechanism lifts both the hatch and a full deck section, allowing the tender to be launched and recovered in dramatic, almost theatrical fashion. It’s a design that feels straight from a movie set and delivers an unmistakable sense of occasion.

Moving up to the main cockpit, there’s a broad dining area shaded by carbon-fibre poles supporting a removable canopy. This becomes the primary alfresco dining space, comfortably accommodating guests around a large table. Loose furniture fills out the remaining space, providing flexibility, while amenities like a sink and secondary helm controls enhance its functionality for both guests and crew. Boarding is easy via gates on either side, especially useful when docked alongside higher quays.

The foredeck follows the same sporty theme. Symmetrical side decks lead forward to a large sunbathing area with a massive sunpad and low-slung seating. Here too, the design favours reclining relaxation over upright dining, although there’s still provision for drinks and snacks. A canopy can be installed when shade is needed. Hidden beneath the clean lines are anchor controls and ground tackle, which are kept out of the guest area up front.

Up top, the sundeck is geared towards sun-lovers rather than diners. It’s a clean, open space with a low-profile hardtop, a small fridge beneath the sofa, and storage compartments including neatly boxed life rafts. A compact control station with joystick, jet thruster, and navigation repeater is fitted aft, enabling precision manoeuvring with full visibility over the bow and stern. For those who prefer to helm from on high, a flybridge helm station is available as an option.

Grey Goose I pairs high performance with high style in a sleek, low-slung design built for speed.

Interior Design

Step inside, and the AB 100 immediately feels tailored and contemporary. Automatic sliding glass doors open into a bright, open-plan saloon, where deep windows flood the space with light and create a strong visual connection with the sea, even when seated.

The saloon features a pale colour scheme with bespoke touches like a striking blue marble top and integrated cabinetry designed around functional daily use. There’s space for lounging to port with large sofas positioned beside the biggest section of glazing. A pop-up TV is cleverly integrated into a bulkhead, which also acts as a subtle divider between the social space and helm station.

The central helm area is a key feature, designed for high-speed control and serious navigation. Four vertically mounted displays sit ahead of three fully adjustable helm seats with armrests, bolsters, footrests, and electric movement.

Beneath the saloon, the galley sits in the crew domain. It’s larger than expected for a fast day yacht and enjoys natural light from windows just above the worktop line. Fully equipped with oven, microwave, American-style fridge-freezer, dishwasher and extraction, it’s designed to keep up with entertaining on extended day trips or short cruises. The door linking galley to saloon opens via foot switches for hands-free operation.

Crew can dine and relax in the adjacent mess, which includes screens for monitoring onboard systems as well as entertainment. There’s also a second point of access to the deck via a discreet staircase at the foredeck end, allowing service and movement without interrupting guest areas.

Accommodation

Grey Goose I sleeps eight guests in four ensuite cabins, arranged on the lower deck. There are two doubles and two twins, one of which features a Pullman berth for added versatility. Every cabin benefits from hull windows and opening ports, and all are air-conditioned with iPad-style control panels for AV, lighting, blinds, and climate settings. Headroom throughout is generous, with thoughtful storage and nicely finished bathrooms that feel private and well-proportioned.

The forward VIP cabin shares space with the galley behind the bulkhead, which does slightly reduce its footprint compared to typical yachts of this size. Nevertheless, it includes a walkaround bed, hull glazing, ensuite and enough storage for short stays.

Midships, the twin cabins sit to port and starboard. The port cabin includes a fold-down Pullman berth, ideal for children or an occasional extra guest. Each twin cabin has its own bathroom with curved mirrors to enhance the feeling of space, and the hull windows help to bring in daylight.

The standout accommodation is the full-beam owner’s suite, which sits aft. This generous cabin offers a wide central bed, panoramic hull windows with an opening section, and dedicated space for a large wall-mounted television. Behind the bed, the bathroom and walk-in wardrobe are smartly positioned to provide additional sound insulation from the engine room further aft. The bathroom includes a big inboard shower with a rain head, twin sinks with ample storage, and a window for natural ventilation.

Crew accommodation is forward, with access through the galley. Two twin bunk cabins provide berths for up to four crew, and there’s a separate head and shower large enough to include a proper cubicle.

Performance & Capabilities

The power is jet drive-based, supported by a joystick and bow thruster for pinpoint slow-speed manoeuvres. Stubby throttles offer full command of 6,000 horsepower across triple MAN V12-2000 diesel engines, each delivering 1,971hp at 2,300 rpm. AB Yachts offers engine options that push top speeds from 50 knots up to an astonishing 60 knots, making this a true performance vessel. At cruising speeds of 40-45 knots, the yacht can deliver around 400 nautical miles of range. Despite the firepower, the shallow 1.3 metre (4.3 ft) draft allows access to surprisingly tight anchorages and sandbars.

With a fuel capacity of 10,800 litres, she can achieve a maximum range of approximately 500 nautical miles, even at these high cruising speeds. It’s a rare combination of raw performance and meaningful range, particularly for a yacht of this size.

The engine room is intelligently laid out, with thoughtful separation between machinery and maintenance zones. Access is via two dedicated hatches in the cockpit, and despite housing three large engines, the space remains surprisingly workable. The centre engine powers the booster jet, while the two outer engines are steerable for directional control. These systems are supplemented by a bow thruster and joystick for low-speed handling, making close-quarters manoeuvring intuitive and controlled.

Equipment is neatly arranged for inspection and maintenance. There are walkways between the engines, easy access to both generators, and clearly laid out systems including a Seakeeper stabiliser, which supports comfort when the yacht is at rest.

With 10,800 litres of fuel and a 500-mile range, Grey Goose I covers serious ground without slowing down.
