The 33.3m motor yacht MorningStar was delivered to her owners in 2025 by Italian shipyard Mangusta. Her exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Alberto Mancini, while Mangusta is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement composite hull and superstructure she features a 7.4m beam and a 1.9m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 228 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Launched in July 2025 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2025.

Exterior Design

MorningStar represents the entry point into Mangusta's GranSport family, the range developed to bridge the gap between the yard's high-speed Maxi Open yachts and its long-range Oceano series. Alberto Mancini's exterior gives the 33.3m (109.3ft) yacht much of the visual presence of her larger sisters through a low-slung profile, continuous bands of glazing and clean horizontal lines that minimise the apparent height of the superstructure. 

The bridge deck blends into the superstructure instead of standing above it, while dark glazing wraps almost continuously around the accommodation to reduce the visual mass of the yacht. The result has much of the presence of a far larger superyacht despite remaining below the 35-metre threshold.

Unlike Mangusta's famous Maxi Open yachts, which focus on outright speed, the GranSport range was conceived as a Sport Utility Yacht that combines fast cruising with genuine long-range capability. MorningStar sits at the entry point to that range, bringing many of the ideas found aboard the GranSport 45 and GranSport 54 into a more compact platform. Wide side decks provide safe movement around the yacht, while the clean aft cockpit and broad beach club create an uninterrupted connection with the water.

The outdoor arrangement makes full use of every deck. A 56-square-metre sundeck links directly with the foredeck, creating an unusually long run of exterior space for a yacht of this length. Forward, an infinity pool and large sunpad dominate the bow, while the sundeck itself provides shaded seating, a second spa pool and generous lounge areas. The main deck aft centres on alfresco dining beside the saloon, and the hydraulic bathing platform extends the beach club once at anchor.

Construction also plays an important role in the yacht's proportions. The composite hull keeps weight under control while the carbon-fibre superstructure lowers the centre of gravity, allowing the yacht to retain her sleek profile without compromising stability. That combination, together with the fast-displacement hull form developed by Overmarine's in-house naval architects, gives the GranSport 33 a different character from traditional planing sports yachts.

Interior Design

Floor-to-ceiling glazing surrounds the main saloon, while the open-plan arrangement allows the lounge and dining spaces to flow together without visual barriers. Rather than relying on enclosed rooms, the layout creates long sightlines from one end of the deck to the other, making the interior feel considerably larger than the yacht's dimensions suggest.

As with every GranSport 33, the interior was developed specifically for her owner instead of following a fixed production specification. Materials, furnishings and the overall layout were customised through close collaboration with Mangusta's design team, allowing the accommodation and social spaces to reflect the owner's priorities while retaining the architectural character of the GranSport platform.

Accommodation

MorningStar accommodates up to 12 guests in five staterooms, with the owner's suite occupying the forward section of the main deck. Covering approximately 40 square metres, it offers the privacy and proportions more commonly associated with yachts several metres longer, while large hull-side windows provide excellent natural light and uninterrupted sea views.

Four further guest cabins occupy the lower deck, comprising two VIP cabins and two additional guest cabins. Each was configured to suit the owner's requirements, reflecting the highly customised nature of the project rather than a standard production arrangement.

Crew accommodation allows discreet operation throughout extended cruising, with dedicated service routes that keep guest and crew circulation largely separate. Combined with the generous social areas above, the arrangement supports both private family cruising and entertaining larger groups without compromising comfort.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by 4 x diesel Volvo Penta (D13-1000) 1,000hp engines running at 2400rpm, motor yacht MorningStar is capable of reaching a top speed of 25 knots, and comfortably cruises at 21 knots. With her 10,500 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 330 nautical miles.
