Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.92m beam and a 2.82m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Amica Mea has a dark navy hull and bright white superstructurethat  create strong contrast, while the long horizontal glazing and sweeping sheer line keep the yacht looking elegant rather than heavy. Glade Johnson’s exterior design leans toward classic proportions instead of sharp aggression, so even at 46.3m (152ft) the yacht feels balanced and composed on the water.

The bow carries a pronounced flare and rake, giving the yacht a confident forward stance while helping soften spray underway. A dark wood cap rail runs along the gunwales and adds warmth against the navy hull, especially around the aft decks where the overhangs and layered terraces create depth in profile.

Outdoor living is spread across three main deck levels. The sundeck acts as the social centrepiece, fitted with a Jacuzzi aft surrounded by sunpads, a wet bar, dining space, and open lounging areas beneath the radar arch. The bridge deck aft provides another sheltered dining zone with wide sea views, while the main deck aft sits closer to the water and feels more relaxed for day-to-day use.

The foredeck is reserved for tender stowage, which leaves the aft exterior spaces cleaner and more guest-focused. Her 11.6m (38ft) Jupiter tender and additional toys support extended cruising and beach-hopping, while the yacht’s long-range capability of 4,500 nautical miles reinforces her ability to travel well beyond short coastal runs.

Zero-speed stabilisers improve comfort both underway and at anchor, and the overall design avoids unnecessary visual clutter.

Interior Design

The interior follows a classic American yacht style with rich cherry wood, maple burl finishes, polished stone surfaces, and soft neutral fabrics throughout. Large windows along the main saloon bring in strong natural light, which stops the darker timber finishes from feeling enclosed and gives the spaces a warmer, more open atmosphere.

The main saloon has a flowing open-plan arrangement with curved sofas grouped around low tables, while a large circular drinks area and full bar create a more social feel than a traditional formal lounge. Forward, the dining space seats 10 guests beneath feature ceiling detailing and recessed lighting that adds softness to the room at night.

The skylounge has a slightly more relaxed tone and doubles as a private cinema thanks to a 112-inch drop-down projection screen and surround sound system. A games table, full wet bar, and lounge seating turn it into a genuine second living area rather than just an upper-deck retreat.

Across the yacht, the detailing feels carefully finished without becoming overly ornate. Rounded cabinetry, glossy woodwork, chrome trim, and soft carpeting balance the heavier timber tones, while the 2020 refit refreshed furnishings, lighting systems, and air-conditioning to keep the yacht feeling current.

Additional guest-focused spaces include a dedicated massage and gym room, while the entertainment setup extends outdoors through multiple bars, dining areas, and direct access to the yacht’s large toy collection.

Accommodation

Superyacht Amica Mea accommodates up to 11 guests across five cabins, supported by accommodation for nine crew.

The full-beam owner’s suite sits on the main deck and benefits from large windows that bring in substantial natural light. The suite includes a private study area, walk-in wardrobe, lounge space, and a marble en suite finished with a Jacuzzi bath, shower, and his-and-hers sinks.

Three VIP cabins are located on the lower deck alongside a twin cabin with an additional Pullman berth, allowing the yacht to sleep 11 guests comfortably. Each guest cabin has its own en suite bathroom and entertainment system, while the décor continues the yacht’s blend of polished timber finishes, neutral fabrics, and marble detailing.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3508 B) 1,100hp engines, motor yacht Amica Mea is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 92,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 10 knots making her well capable of long range and transatlantic voyages. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Amica Mea also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
