With a gross tonnage of 1,513GT, it will be the largest yacht ever built by the Dutch yard, extending its order book through to 2029.
The project was secured in collaboration with 26 North Yachts as build broker and Arrow Monaco as the client’s build management company. Design will be led by Sinot Yacht Design, with naval architecture, engineering, and construction handled by Diana Yacht Design.
Outdoor Living with Pools, Helipad, and Sports Court
Spanning an 11.6-meter beam, Project YN258 has been conceived for extended global cruising. Sinot Yacht Design has developed both interior and exterior styling, with a focus on balancing indoor living with expansive outdoor areas.
The vessel is the largest vessel in size and tonnage ever to be built by our yard. It will guarantee our Shipyard work until late 2029 and will provide work for around 300 people being either direct employed shipyard staff or through subcontractors. "

Key exterior amenities on board the yacht include a touch-and-go helipad, two swimming pools, and a sports court. Accommodation is planned for 14 guests across seven staterooms, highlighted by two owners’ suites – one on the forward owners’ deck and another positioned aft on the bridge deck.
Crew welfare has been prioritized throughout the design. The yacht will house 20 crew in spacious quarters, featuring a large mess and a dedicated gym. Technical areas have been optimized for accessibility on long passages, while the build incorporates advanced waste management systems, operational efficiency, and minimal maintenance requirements.
Largest Yacht in Royal Hakvoort’s History
For Royal Hakvoort, YN258 represents a defining step. At 70.1 meters and 1,513 GT, it will be the largest yacht ever built at the yard, guaranteeing work through 2029 and engaging more than 300 people across staff and subcontractors.
The project also extends longstanding partnerships, with 26 North Yachts acting as build broker, Arrow Monaco overseeing client management, and Sinot Yacht Design leading both exterior and interior design alongside Diana Yacht Design’s naval architecture. YN258 also marks the seventh collaboration between Hakvoort and Sinot, continuing a proven creative partnership.
The order builds on Hakvoort’s recent momentum. The 63.7-meter expedition yacht Scout, delivered in 2019 with exterior and interior design by H2 Yacht Design, remains the largest yacht in its fleet today. With an ice-class hull, helipad, and explorer profile, Scout set a benchmark for range and capability.
In 2024, the shipyard followed with the 61-meter Asia, designed by Sinot with naval architecture from Diana Yacht Design, distinguished by twin owners’ suites, a recessed beach club, and a wellness-focused interior.
Construction of Project YN258 will take place at Hakvoort’s Monnickendam facility, with delivery scheduled for September 2029.
Other Major Royal Hakvoort Builds Beyond YN258
Alongside the landmark 70.1-meter YN258, Royal Hakvoort has two other significant yachts in build, both scheduled for delivery in 2026.
The 65-meter Project Freedom (aka YN254) is a full-displacement motor yacht by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design with naval architecture from Diana Yacht Design. At 1,415 GT and 11.2 meters in beam, she features a main deck pool, sundeck Jacuzzi with bar, and a forward touch-and-go helipad.
The beach club connects directly to the sea, while interiors accommodate 12 guests in six suites, including an owner’s deck with a private office and outdoor lounge. Powered by twin Caterpillar 3512E engines, she has a range of 4,100 nautical miles at 12 knots.
Also underway is Project YN256, a 45-meter yacht penned inside and out by Hoek Design. Built on a steel hull with aluminum superstructure, she offers accommodation for six guests across three suites, supported by a crew of seven. With a top speed of 14 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles, YN256 reflects Hakvoort’s versatility across custom builds.
Royal Hakvoort’s order book highlights its rising profile in the large yacht sector. With YN258 as its largest build and two more due in 2026, the shipyard is demonstrating both technical ambition and sustained growth in custom yachtbuilding.
