Delivered in 2017, Laurentia is a 55m motor yacht for sale built by Dutch shipyard Heesen. The yacht's refined interiors have been crafted by Radyca, while her exteriors have been penned by Omega Architects.

  • Features a luxurious owner's suite
  • 55m (180.45ft) Heesen motor yacht
  • Outdoor cinema with 360° projection
  • Aft-deck eight-seater dining table
  • Range of 4,500 nautical miles

Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.6m beam and a 3.2m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 740 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the second yacht built on the 55m Steel design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in July 2017 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2017.

Exterior Design

Laurentia has a profile that's long and low, with a raked bow and a clean, uninterrupted sheerline which keeps the yacht balanced despite her volume.

The hull and superstructure are finished in white, with a black boot top and lower hull creating a clear visual break at the waterline. Large vertical window panels forward stand out against the otherwise horizontal glazing, bringing light into the owner’s suite and adding variation to the profile.

Omega Architects kept the exterior simple, with minimal surface detail and strong horizontal lines. Long bands of dark glass run through the main and upper decks, reducing the apparent height and keeping the yacht visually tight.

Deck spaces are arranged with a clear split between activity and quiet areas. The aft deck leads down to a beach club at water level, while the upper decks focus on open-air use. The sundeck combines a jacuzzi, sunpads and shaded seating, grouped around the mast structure so the space stays usable in stronger sun.

A more unusual feature sits aft, where an outdoor cinema uses a 360-degree projection setup. The screen can be viewed from both inside and outside, which links the aft deck and interior lounge rather than treating them as separate areas.

Interior Design

The interior by Radyca, led by Ramon Alonso, uses a restrained palette built around whitened oak, wengé and soft grey tones. Materials shift between wood, marble and leather, with finishes kept matte so surfaces do not reflect too much light.

The main deck saloon runs into a formal dining area for 12 guests, set within one continuous space. Large windows bring in light along both sides, while furniture stays low to keep sightlines clear.

A central staircase links all levels and acts as a visual anchor without dominating the layout. The design keeps circulation simple, so movement between decks feels direct.

The sky lounge sits aft of the helm and works as a second living space. It includes a bar, lounge seating and direct access to an exterior terrace with sun protection. The position gives wide views while keeping the space separate from the main saloon.

Entertainment systems are integrated across interior and exterior areas, with repeaters in the deck spaces so audio and media carry through without interruption.

Accommodation

Laurentia accommodates up to 12 guests in five cabins, with crew space for up to 14.

The owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck and spans the beam. Large vertical windows bring in light across the space, while the layout includes a study area, walk-in wardrobe, lounge section and a bathroom with separate bath and shower.

Guest accommodation includes two VIP cabins and two twin cabins, all with en suite bathrooms. The design follows the same material palette as the main areas, so the transition between spaces stays consistent.

Crew accommodation is arranged across six cabins, with the captain located close to the bridge for direct access to operations.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M63) 1,350hp engines, motor yacht Laurentia is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 106,749 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Amenities

In addition, a beach club allows for easy access to the water and allows those on board to easily unwind. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Laurentia also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
