A highly customized build from the Damen YS 53 series, Five Oceans was designed, engineered, and styled entirely in-house by Damen Yachting. Developed around a demanding brief for global research and adventure.
Designed for adaptability, the interior layout of the support yacht facilitates a wide range of operational missions—from research to hospitality. While the focus is not on traditional luxury, the materials and finishes are tailored to extended use, with durable surfaces and an efficient, climate-controlled environment. Several lounges and salons are included within the configuration, intended to flex between workspace, relaxation area, or social meeting point. Damen also introduced an air-conditioning system optimized for a consistent and comfortable onboard atmosphere, even in more extreme conditions.

The layout of the yacht has been carefully crafted to support specialist operations. The interior includes modified guest staterooms for comfort during long expeditions, as well as bespoke zones such as a dive shop and adaptable laboratory or storage areas. According to the owner, “You can sleep on it, fly off of it, and move it. For us the Yacht Support is a platform that enables us to do all the incredible things we wanted to do.”

Striking in both color and capability, the motor yacht sports a sky-blue hull with navy and orange accents, topped by a clean white superstructure. This distinct aesthetic reflects both practicality and personal flair, referencing the owner’s passion for ocean conservation and motor racing. The exterior spaces are defined by their function. A key feature is the vast 310-square-meter aft deck, designed to carry modular units, tenders, vehicles, or scientific installations, depending on the mission at hand.

The vessel is equipped with a 15-tonne deck crane and an optional A-frame, ensuring she can handle large or delicate loads with precision. Her axe bow hull form is engineered for performance in rough seas, reducing vertical motion and maintaining a dry deck even in adverse weather. These features are backed by a robust steel hull, aluminium superstructure, and a 497 GT volume that prioritizes usable space across every deck.

Accommodation is provided for up to eight guests in four en-suite cabins. These quarters are customized for long-duration use, offering comfort and privacy while supporting the vessel’s operational profile. Up to 11 crew members can be accommodated in six crew cabins, including a dedicated captain’s suite, ensuring the yacht can be run efficiently with full support for specialist activities at sea.

The build process began in late 2022 and concluded with her delivery in May 2024. The project was shaped by owner Tommy Allen’s desire to create a platform for global exploration, research, and outreach. Having previously owned a larger support yacht, Allen approached this project with a clear vision—prioritizing modularity, mobility, and functionality across ocean regions including Africa, Asia, and the Indian Ocean.
According to YachtBuyer Market Watch, Five Oceans was last asking €26,950,000.
