Delivered in 2020 and originally launched as Lana, Mar arrives not only as a showpiece of Italian yachtbuilding but also as one of the most expensive yachts currently on the brokerage market, listed at €195,000,000. She replaces the 119m Breakthrough by Feadship as the largest confirmed attendee at Monaco.
Benetti’s Gigayacht Achievement
Mar is one of three 100-meter-plus projects completed by Benetti in the same period, alongside Luminosity (107.6m) and IJE (108m). Her construction was managed by Imperial Yachts, with Benetti responsible for both naval architecture and design. With a gross tonnage of 3,891 GT, she ranks 67th in the YachtBuyer YB100 list of the world’s biggest yachts by volume and remains one of the most substantial yachts ever delivered by an Italian yard.

The yacht’s interiors are characterized by striking 2.7-meter head heights, often described as cathedral-like. Benetti’s in-house design team paired this sense of scale with refined materials, from Ayous wood and leather to custom-carved marble.

Accommodation on board the yacht is arranged for 16 guests across eight cabins, including a full-beam master suite on the bridge deck. The suite benefits from dual terraces, a private study, and a bathroom finished in crema marfil marble.

Seven VIP cabins are positioned on the main deck, each with its own distinct color scheme and outfitted with 65-inch OLED televisions. Privacy and comfort are reinforced by extensive insulation and strategic layout planning, while the yacht also houses a professional crew of 34.
Exterior Detailing and Outdoor Living
Natural teak, stainless steel, and glass define Mar’s exterior finish, with furniture designed as much for tactile quality as for visual impact. Dining tables on the main and bridge decks are set with backlit onyx, and aft-deck tables convert into firepits for evening ambiance.

Guests will also find multiple outdoor dining settings, a winter garden, and a sundeck crowned by an eight-meter heated pool flanked by loungers. The area doubles as an entertainment hub, equipped with DJ decks, multiple outdoor televisions, and a California Audio Technology sound system.

Mar’s 120-square-meter beach club incorporates a gym, hammam, massage room, and treatment spaces decorated with mosaics and ammonite fossil detailing. The garage houses a 14-meter wooden limousine tender, a nine-meter secondary tender, a rescue craft, Jet Skis, and SeaBobs.

Beneath her design, Mar is powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system using eight generators linked to twin Rolls-Royce electric motors. She cruises comfortably at 16 knots, with a top speed of 18.5 knots and a 5,500-nautical-mile range at 12 knots. Four Naiad stabilizers ensure comfort both underway and at anchor, while a touch-and-go helipad provides direct guest access.
An Award-Winning Superyacht on Display
Since her delivery, Mar has collected multiple accolades, including World Yacht Trophies’ Best Yacht of the Year over 82m and Outstanding Exterior Design at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards.

Her presence in Monaco will bring a rare opportunity for visitors to step aboard one of the largest yachts ever constructed in Italy.

Other Major Yachts for Sale at the 2025 MYS
Mar is not the only major yacht for sale at Monaco this year. The 90-meter Luna, designed by Luiz de Basto with interiors by Nuvolari Lenard, is known for her glass-rich superstructure, waterfall pool, expansive beach club, and private owner’s deck with jacuzzi. Delivered in 2018 by Oceanco as Dar and refitted in 2024, Luna is currently asking €218,000,000.

Here Comes The Sun by Amels underwent a major refit in 2021 that extended her length to 89m, adding VIP suites, an enlarged main deck pool, and a sundeck helipad. Tim Heywood drew the exterior while Winch Design created family-led interiors centered on generous lounges, a wellness-focused beach club, and multiple alfresco dining zones. Here Comes The Sun is listed for sale on YachtBuyer and is currently asking €165,000,000

Another Amels, the 78m Energy, is also set to attend. Espen Øino’s exterior lines frame expansive decks with a large upper deck pool and a sun deck capable of helicopter operations, while Zuretti’s interior introduces warm materials, a piano lounge, and a wellness deck with gym, hammam, and sauna. Energy is listed for sale on YachtBuyer and is currently asking €185,000,000

Mar’s arrival as the largest yacht at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show cements her position as one of Benetti’s landmark achievements. Alongside other significant brokerage listings, her presence underscores the scale and prestige of this year’s event in Port Hercules.
