Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14m beam and a 3.85m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,885 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2018 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project 77'. This was the first yacht built on the Custom design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in December 2019 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2022.
Exterior Design
Privacy was a central theme in Espen Øino’s design. The slightly raked bow, rounded at the tip, leads to a foredeck with high coamings and teak underfoot. This space is arranged for flexibility, with a small square pool, sun pads, tables and armchairs. A double sofa arrangement takes advantage of the bridge deck overhang for shade, while the entire area remains hidden from higher decks to protect the owner’s privacy.
Guests can choose between several forward lounges. The bridge deck offers a sheltered nook for quiet relaxation, while the sundeck above is expansive and open, its forward section configured for helicopter landings. A vertical radar and navigation mast rises from a wide canopy, the side supports detailed with metal louvres, giving the profile a sculptural edge. Aft on the sundeck is a circular spa pool surrounded by sun pads, and throughout the yacht multiple spa pools are placed so they can be enjoyed at different times of day.
The upper deck aft houses a large pool cleverly raised above the tenders, which are stowed beneath and hidden behind Øino’s fashion plates. Twin staircases connect to the main deck aft, where a mural of Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa provides the backdrop to a sheltered seating area. To starboard, a floor panel opens to reveal an internal staircase down to the beach club, where a bar, sofa and fold-out terrace sit at the water’s edge.
The hull shape is distinctive, its curving lines and balconies serving both aesthetic and functional purposes. Wide side decks lead to private balconies adjoining the main-deck guest cabins, while cutaway guardrails and vertical glazing maximise views and natural light. The hull sides are punctuated by double and triple banks of portholes, lighting the lower deck and lending detail to the clean white superstructure. With a beam of 14m (45.9ft) that extends to 15.6m (51.1ft) across its overhangs and balconies, the yacht presents a powerful yet balanced silhouette.
Interior Design
The owner wanted a home at sea rather than a pure explorer, and that theme runs through the interior by Zuretti Design. Warmth, richness and Asian influences replace the more casual “beach house” look. The scheme is contemporary but not minimalistic, detailed with sycamore, Tineo, bronze, leathers, and no fewer than nine marbles and semi-precious stones. The artistry extends to bronze bas-reliefs by DKT Artworks, Japanese lacquer panels by Atelier Midavaine, and 30 ornate doors designed specially by Zuretti. In the owner’s bathroom, onyx is cut so it changes colour gradually from the sole to the windows.
Ceiling heights on the owner’s, bridge and main decks reach 2.3m (7.5ft) with a centre section of 2.5m (8.2ft), creating a generous sense of volume. Across all spaces, Øino and Zuretti worked closely to keep exterior and interior flowing into one another. Furniture outdoors carries the same marquetry and detailing found inside, and the upper deck in particular is designed as one continuous space from saloon to pool, giving the impression of a much larger yacht.
The main deck is arranged for practical use. A welcoming wall fountain greets guests, while further in are the owner’s office and conference room, plus a martial arts room designed for easy conversion into a cinema. The formal dining room sits forward, set up for occasions when business gives way to entertaining. Above, the bridge deck lounge doubles as a piano bar for musical evenings, while the sundeck becomes the social hub, its custom bar, DJ booth and California Audio Technology speakers transforming the space into an outdoor club.
Wellness has a dedicated deck. The gym, equipped with Technogym machines, opens to the sea through a sliding glass wall and shell door, while adjoining rooms include a massage space, hammam and sauna. Several shell doors provide guest boarding points and add fresh air and light even in passage. The beach club below features a backlit wall, sofa and ornate doors leading into the wellness areas, blurring the edge between relaxation and fitness.
Accommodation
Energy carries up to 14 guests in seven cabins. The owner’s deck is the principal living space, with a private saloon, a master suite with panoramic views, a forward terrace with spa pool, and a 12.5m (41ft) jet pool 1.4m (4.6ft) deep for exercise. The positioning of this deck below the bridge keeps it almost invisible from shore.
Two VIP cabins on the main deck each open onto private balconies, while four additional doubles sit on the lower deck. Ceiling height, volume and careful flow of spaces ensure that all guest areas feel bright and comfortable.
Behind the scenes, 27 crew share 500sqm of living and working space. Facilities include a crew mess, lounge, gym, cabins, a lift running from the tank deck to the bridge, and individual engineer workstations, all arranged to support discreet service.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M63L) 3,046hp engines, motor yacht Energy is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 295,200 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 13 knots.
