At 499GT, the Bering 165 sits just below the 500GT threshold while delivering a five-deck layout and proportions that place it firmly in flagship territory for the Turkish yard. The model was first presented at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2024 and has since drawn steady attention from experienced owners seeking long-range capability without sacrificing onboard comfort.
The Bering 165 has been developed with exterior styling by Swiss studio Valentin Design, general arrangement by Aberton Yachts, and engineering by Turkish firm Eureka Yachts. Built with a steel explorer platform, the Bering yacht carries a 9m beam and is designed to balance transoceanic capability with interior volume more commonly associated with larger yachts.
Across five decks, the layout is structured to feel substantially larger than her sub-50m length suggests, while retaining the autonomy and seakeeping that have become core to Bering’s explorer DNA. According to the yard, the design brief focused on range, redundancy, and livability rather than headline speed or styling gestures.
Above the main living areas on board the superyacht, the bridge deck is arranged as a mixed-use social and operational space. Alongside the wheelhouse, guests have access to an indoor-outdoor lounge, sit-up bar, and day head, reinforcing the deck’s role as an everyday gathering area rather than a purely technical zone.
An open-air cinema with a firepit adds a relaxed evening setting, while a crow’s nest positioned on the hardtop provides a 360-degree lookout. Designed as a quiet observation point, the elevated perch offers panoramic views suited to remote cruising, night watches, or stargazing at anchor.
Guest accommodation is arranged across five staterooms, supported by a dedicated owner’s deck that spans nearly 70 square meters. Conceived as a private retreat, the owner’s level features a full-beam master suite, generous ensuite, walk-in wardrobe, and a separate study or lounge space.
Service access has been carefully planned, with a private pantry and dumbwaiter linking the deck to the galley below. Aft on the explorer yacht, the owner’s deck opens to a secluded terrace fitted with sunbeds, a Jacuzzi, sofa, and coffee table, creating a sheltered outdoor area set apart from guest circulation.
Aberton Yachts broker Igor Cherentaev described the layout as the result of a year-long process focused on logic and usability for both guests and crew, with particular attention paid to circulation, service routes, and long-term comfort on extended voyages.
Propulsion is provided by twin 1,300hp Caterpillar engines, delivering a cruising speed of 10 knots and a top speed of 15 knots. Fuel capacity stands at 65,000 liters, supporting a range in excess of 5,000 nautical miles at economical speed, sufficient for ocean crossings without refueling.
The sale of hull number one has been positioned by the yard as an early validation of the Bering 165 concept. Valentin Design noted the importance of client engagement with the yacht’s integrated design approach, while Aberton Yachts highlighted the strength of the platform within the sub-500 gross ton explorer market.
With delivery scheduled for March 2029, the project enters a multi-year build phase at a time when Bering Yachts is already managing several other construction programs. The yard recently launched the first Bering 78 explorer yacht and reports that discussions for additional Bering 165 hulls are already underway.
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, Bering Yachts currently has 10 yachts either in build or on order. This includes multiple units from the Bering 145 and Bering 88 series.
