Greenline 42: New Hybrid Model Unveiled at Cannes Ahead of 2026 Launch

Greenline Yachts has used the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival to unveil its new 42-foot model.

Set to launch in early 2026, the Greenline 42 extends the brand’s hybrid approach, uniting sustainable propulsion with flexible interiors shaped to each owner’s brief.

A Collaborative Design Effort

Both the exterior and interior of the yacht have been developed by Marco Casali, extending his partnership with the shipyard. Casali has worked across several Greenline projects, including the larger Greenline 58 Fly, and here he has opted to 'reinvigorate rather than reinvent' by modernizing the line without losing Greenline's identity.

The naval architecture is attributed to Micad, who revisited the hull form to increase efficiency and top speed. This collaboration brings together stylistic refinement, practical interiors, and measurable performance gains. The model has also been designated the shipyard’s most customizable model to date, an approach designed to appeal to a wider group of owners.

Exterior Layouts and Social Areas

Greenline's motor yacht introduces a new flexibility in exterior spaces. The aft cockpit can be arranged in two distinct ways, with options including removable furniture, a lowering swim platform, and a drop-down transom for direct access to the water. These features allow owners to define the character of the space, from a simple open deck to a furnished terrace.

At the bow, a new lounge area has been integrated above the anchor system, following a design approach first seen on the Greenline 58. The foredeck is configured as a casual relaxation zone, expanding the yacht’s social areas beyond the traditional cockpit and flybridge.

Casali points to the “full glass ending” of the saloon as one of the project’s most notable changes, creating large openings around the galley and a stronger link with the cockpit. This connection between interior and exterior is now available in two versions, offering owners the choice of layout best suited to their cruising style.

Casali's Interior Vision

Inside, Casali has created three design schemes, built around natural tones and renewable materials. Owners may choose between “honey teak” or “modern oak,” while details such as flooring, wardrobes, and saloon sofas can be specified to personal preference.

The interior layout allows for several different configurations: a second guest bathroom below, or alternatively, a walk-in closet or vanity for the owner’s suite.

Dashboard-style climate controls have been added at the helm, offering direct temperature adjustment, a first for the builder.

Greenline exemplifies that this model provides more semi-custom options than any it has built before, extending from cabin count and bathroom layout to appliance choices. In effect, each hull can be tailored to an individual brief while retaining the hallmarks of the brand’s design language.

Performance and Technical Advances

The Greenline 42’s naval architecture has been rethought to reduce drag and increase speed and making it capable of reaching 30 knots. Central to this efficiency is the shipyard’s proprietary H-Drive 6G system, integrating a diesel engine, electric motors and solar panels to manage efficient power distribution. The system, which was carried forward after a successful debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, through the Greenline 58 Fly model, enables silent electric manoeuvring, making docking and close-quarters handling quieter and less disruptive.

This pioneering propulsion system on board the Greenline 58 Fly and more recently, the Greenline 42 can be read about in the following YachtBuyer news article:

Furthermore, the revised hull aids Greenline’s emphasis on efficiency, enabling longer range and reduced fuel consumption at displacement speeds.

Solar capacity has also been expanded. With ten panels on the coach roof producing a maximum output of 4.1kW, the Greenline 42 can run hotel appliances and recharge its batteries independently of shore power or generator use. This autonomy is one of the yard’s defining features, appealing to owners who want quieter cruising and a lower impact footprint.

Responsible Yachting in Practice

The launch of the Greenline 42 sits within the shipyard’s wider Responsible Yachting commitment, which addresses efficiency across design, propulsion, and construction.

The company’s hulls, marketed as “superdisplacement,” are engineered to deliver stability and efficiency at multiple speeds. The hull laminate uses recycled PET foam, applied by vacuum infusion to minimize waste. Vinyl-ester resin provides durability, with a five-year warranty against osmosis.

In the workshops, offcuts from interior carpentry are pressed into pellets for heating, while surplus foam is supplied to a neighboring company to be reused as insulation. Single-use promotional materials have largely been eliminated, and owner manuals are now delivered exclusively in digital format.

As a further step, Greenline equips every yacht with biodegradable cleaning products, designed not to damage the marine environment. And starting in 2026, the company plans to launch an annual award recognizing owners who achieve the greatest use of electric propulsion and solar power. Usage will be tracked through the Greenline app, allowing clients to benchmark their yachts against others in the fleet.

Position Within the Fleet

The Greenline 42 enters the portfolio between the compact Greenline 39 and larger models such as the Greenline 48 Fly and Greenline 58 Fly, of which the former recently won at the 2025 Yacht Style Awards. The new model therefore reinforces the yard’s reputation for building yachts that combine style with environmental consciousness.

The new Greenline 42 has absorbed every inch of our know-how and will provide a reference in the market for decades to come.

CEO Vladimir Zinchenko framed the model as a carefully considered step: “Greenline Yachts believes that fantastic design has no shelf-life, so we don’t seek to constantly update or replace our models,” he explained. “When we do finally introduce a new boat, it is therefore no light decision. You can be sure that the new Greenline 42 has absorbed every inch of our know-how and will provide a reference in the market for decades to come.”
