Mangusta Launches Second GranSport 34 Motor Yacht Just Two Months After First Hull

Just over two months after introducing the first hull, the second Mangusta GranSport 34 superyacht has launched, continuing the rollout of its newest fast-cruising series.

The 34m Mangusta GranSport 34 entered the water on 25 June at Overmarine Group's Viareggio shipyard during a ceremony attended by the owner, their family, and members of the construction team.

An Experienced Owner Chooses the GranSport 34

The latest launch follows the debut of the first GranSport 34 in April, when the inaugural hull entered the water ahead of delivery to an American owner. Just over two months later, the arrival of a second yacht suggests the model is already gaining momentum in the market.

This latest hull has been delivered to an experienced Turkish owner, who purchased the yacht through Mangusta's Turkish representative, BTWO Marine. According to the shipyard, the GranSport 34 was selected for its sporty performance, generous onboard living space, and contemporary styling.

It was a true celebration of teamwork, competence, and passion – all values capable of turning every vision into reality and every Mangusta creation into a floating dream ready to cruise the seas."

Developed as the successor to the award-winning GranSport 33, the model retains the low, athletic profile that defines the series while introducing larger glazed surfaces and a stronger connection between interior and exterior living spaces. Alberto Mancini again led the exterior design in collaboration with Overmarine's engineering department, refining the platform to meet evolving owner expectations.

Designed to Feel Like a Larger Yacht

Although the GranSport 34 measures under 34 meters, Mangusta has focused on delivering the accommodation and onboard comfort normally associated with larger superyachts. The standout feature remains the approximately 40-square-meter full-beam owner's suite on the main deck, giving the yacht one of the largest master staterooms available in this size category.

Four additional guest cabins occupy the lower deck, allowing accommodation for up to 12 guests, while three crew cabins support operation without compromising guest privacy. Throughout the motor yacht, floor-to-ceiling glazing and open social spaces strengthen the connection with the surrounding water, continuing a design philosophy introduced on the first hull.

Like the first GranSport 34, the second hull is powered by four 1,000hp Volvo Penta engines paired with the Swedish manufacturer's IPS pod propulsion system. The package delivers a reported top speed of 24 knots and a cruising speed of 20 knots while also providing easier maneuverability, lower fuel consumption, reduced vibration, and quieter operation than more conventional shaft-driven installations.

Stepping Through the GranSport Range

The GranSport 34 now serves as the entry point to Mangusta's GranSport lineup, sitting below the larger 38, 45, 50 and flagship 54.

The 37m GranSport 38 expands on the same fast-cruising philosophy with additional interior volume, an asymmetrical deck arrangement, and a range of approximately 600 nautical miles, while the 45-meter GranSport 45 moves into all-aluminum construction, offering transatlantic capability with a range of around 3,500 nautical miles alongside speeds exceeding 26 knots.

At the top of the lineup, the 54-meter GranSport 54 remains Mangusta's flagship, pairing long-range capability with performance approaching 30 knots. The model has already been put through an in-depth YachtBuyer review, exploring how its engineering, layout, and handling translate into real-world cruising.

If you're interested in how the GranSport concept evolves at its largest scale, it's well worth watching the full review and sea trial.
