Second Cantiere delle Marche Nauta Air 110 Explorer Yacht Tartaruga Launched

The 34m explorer yacht Tartaruga has been launched in Ancona, marking the second hull in the Cantiere delle Marche Nauta Air 110 series.

Penned inside and out by Nauta Yachts, this Cantiere delle Marche vessel represents the latest evolution of a platform designed around long-range cruising, structural integrity, and understated Italian styling.

Delivered in 2026 and reportedly commissioned for Australian businessman Marcus Blackmore, Tartaruga builds on the foundation laid by the first Nauta Air 110 while introducing refinements to both profile and onboard layout.

A Refined Profile with Explorer Intent

Tartaruga’s exterior carries the clean, purposeful lines associated with the Nauta Air series. The silhouette of the yacht is modern yet restrained, shaped by a gently clipped bow and uncluttered superstructure. The visual language remains consistent with earlier Nauta projects, though subtle updates give this second hull a sharper presence.

Built on a displacement steel hull with an aluminum superstructure, she measures 33.5m overall with a 7.5m beam and a 2.4m draft. Her gross tonnage stands at 299 GT, distributed across three decks. Teak-laid exterior spaces and wide side decks reinforce her practical cruising brief, while proportions are balanced to maintain stability during extended passages.

It has been a true pleasure working alongside the exceptional teams at Cantiere delle Marche and with Vasco Buonpensiere throughout this project, bringing to life a yacht that balances contemporary aesthetics, intelligent engineering, and long-range capability.”

- IYC’s Global Managing Partner Michel Chryssicopoulos

The explorer yacht has been constructed to Lloyd’s Register standards and is IMO-compliant, underscoring her credentials as a serious passagemaker rather than a coastal cruiser.

Engineering for Distance

At the core of the Nauta Air 110 concept is long-range capability. Tartaruga is powered by twin Caterpillar C18 ACERT engines rated at 533hp each. Top speed is 13 knots, with a cruising speed of 10 knots and an economic speed of 9 knots.

Fuel capacity totals 47,000 liters, delivering a transoceanic range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. This specification places her firmly within the explorer category, suited to remote cruising grounds where refueling infrastructure may be limited.

Displacement is reported at 215 tonnes, reinforcing the superyacht’s robust build philosophy. For owners navigating regions such as the Pacific archipelagos or Australia’s extensive coastline, range and reliability remain central considerations.

Layout Shaped by Experience

Tartaruga accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins, including a main deck owner’s suite and four guest cabins below deck - two doubles and two twins. Crew quarters for six are arranged in three cabins, supporting extended cruising with a full complement onboard. Two al fresco dining areas extend the living space outdoors, including a principal dining setting on the sundeck that anchors the motor yacht’s social flow.

As the second hull in the Nauta Air 110 series, Tartaruga builds directly on the foundation established by her sistership Mimi la Sardine, now renamed Sabai. Delivered in 2018, went on to secure multiple industry accolades, including awards at the 2019 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards and the World Superyacht Awards.

Tartaruga retains that same technical backbone - 299 GT, 215 tonnes displacement, and twin 533hp Caterpillar C18 engines - while benefiting from incremental refinements in layout and onboard systems. The result is continuity rather than reinvention: a platform shaped by real-world cruising experience, carried forward with measured updates for a new generation of owners seeking range, structural integrity, and practical comfort within a manageable 34-meter envelope.

With sea trials underway and delivery completed in 2026, Tartaruga now joins the growing fleet of mid-size explorers built for owners who intend to venture well beyond familiar cruising grounds.
