On Deck

The Benetti Vision 145, measuring 44.2m (145ft), features expansive deck areas across multiple levels, including a sun deck with a bar, pizza oven, hot tub, and wraparound sunpads. A bimini provides optional shade, while life rafts are stored aft. The upper deck includes a winter garden-style dining area with sliding glass panels that can enclose the space, allowing for flexible use in various weather conditions. Exercise equipment such as a treadmill and bike is placed here as well. Forward of the bridge is a Portuguese bridge, giving discreet access to the anchoring gear and propeller storage without passing through the owner's suite. The bow features a wind-sheltered lounging area with panoramic views.

Aft, the transom folds down to create a beach club right at sea level. This area doubles as access to the garage, where a 5.8m (19ft) tender is stored on a beam crane. The space also houses personal watercraft and jet skis. The garage design means the transom is flush underway and unfolds when at anchor.

Interior Accommodation

The interior channels classic Italian yacht design, pairing dark woods with pale upholstery and fitted furniture. The main saloon includes a bar and a lounge area, which can be configured as a formal dining room, though in this yacht it’s set up as a snug TV lounge. A separate lobby houses the main staircase, creating a more elegant flow between decks and doubling as an alternative boarding point when docked.

Forward on the main deck is a compact office, offering a formal workspace before reaching the owner’s suite. A dumbwaiter connects the galley with upper levels, and extensive refrigeration is found throughout, including a dedicated pantry and wine cooler near the bridge. The galley itself is substantial, feeding into the crew mess and service areas. On the bridge deck, the sky lounge includes a day head, pantry, and additional seating with access to the winter garden aft.

Owner's Cabin

The full-beam owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck, accessed through a dedicated dressing area with storage and a walk-in wardrobe. The bedroom opens directly onto a private forward deck space with a dining area and access to anchor handling equipment and storage for spare propellers. The en suite bathroom is split between two sides, with separate toilets and washbasins, linked by a shared central shower. The overall feel is spacious and secluded, with generous beam and volume distinguishing it from smaller Benetti models.

Guest Accommodation

Four guest cabins are located on the lower deck, accessed via a staircase from the main deck lobby. The two forward cabins are twin rooms with separate beds and generous storage, great for children or guests wanting privacy. Each has its own en suite with rainfall showers and toilets. Further aft are two double cabins, also with en suites, dressing tables, and wardrobe space. The layout makes good use of the yacht’s 9.1m (30ft) beam, giving all cabins a sense of scale and proportion.

Crew Accommodation

The crew quarters are accessed via a door from the main corridor forward of the owner’s suite. Downstairs, there is a well-sized crew mess with a large TV, natural light through hull windows, and ample storage. The area includes three crew cabins and a forward suite that can be closed off for privacy, each with en suites. In total, the yacht accommodates up to eight crew, plus a separate captain’s cabin located just aft of the bridge, also with an en suite. Laundry facilities and storage are found in a utility room below the crew quarters, complete with a large chest freezer, ironing station, and access to the engine room via a passageway that spans much of the lower deck.

Performance

The engine room is laid out with clear attention to long-range cruising. The yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar 3508B engines producing 1,300hp each. These engines are large but operate under low stress, prioritising reliability and endurance over raw power. The yacht has a cruising range of 6,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, with a top speed of around 16 knots. Two 115kW generators (Atlas power converters) handle onboard electrical needs and allow for voltage conversion depending on the shore power supply. There is a dedicated engineer’s office and workshop adjacent to the engine space, and good headroom throughout, supporting ease of maintenance. A secondary stairway provides access from the garage for service routes when the transom is closed.

In Summary

Built in 2005 as hull number five in the Vision 145 series, this Benetti stands out for its size, layout, and long-range capability. Compared to the 121ft and 131ft models, the 145ft layout delivers a noticeable step up in space and luxury. It features a full-beam owner’s suite with private foredeck access, four well-proportioned guest cabins, generous crew quarters for up to eight plus captain, and a versatile arrangement of indoor and outdoor dining and lounging areas. With a 6,000nm range and comfortable cruising speed, it’s a yacht designed for serious ocean-going voyages without compromising onboard luxury.
