Built by German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen, Scott Free was delivered in 2009 and refitted in 2022. The yacht features exterior styling by Donald Starkey, interiors by Bannenberg & Rowell and naval architecture developed by the builder. Constructed with a steel displacement hull and aluminium superstructure, the 1,090GT superyacht was designed for long-range cruising while providing substantial onboard volume and extensive guest amenities.
The interior of the yacht showcases a contemporary design approach, featuring geometric forms, contrasting materials and carefully selected furnishings. Circular motifs feature throughout the main saloon, complemented by illuminated wall details, custom furniture and a blend of pale woods, darker finishes and metallic accents. The sky lounge provides an additional social space with flexible seating and an integrated cocktail bar, while distinctive materials including maple veneers and nickel detailing contribute to the yacht's individual character. The emphasis on bespoke craftsmanship and carefully curated interiors reflects the highly personalised approach seen aboard other notable Abeking & Rasmussen projects, including superyacht Aviva.
The motor yacht's exterior features a clean and elegant profile defined by a raked bow, sweeping sheerline and distinctive light blue hull. Exterior spaces have been arranged to support both private cruising and charter operations, with the sundeck incorporating a hot tub, gym equipment, sunpads, barbecue station and flexible dining area. Additional guest spaces include a bridge-deck dining area for up to 12 guests, generous lounge seating and a tender garage opening directly onto the swimming platform. A similar focus on expansive outdoor living and guest circulation can also be found aboard the Abeking & Rasmussen superyacht Excellence. Scott Free's design credentials were recognised with the Best Power 40m–65m award at the 2010 International Superyacht Society Awards, alongside finalist nominations at both The World Superyacht Awards and ShowBoats Design Awards.
Accommodation onboard the boat is arranged for up to 12 guests across six cabins. The full-beam owner's suite occupies a private position forward on the main deck and includes a dedicated office, walk-in wardrobe, dressing area and spacious en suite bathroom. Four guest cabins on the lower deck can be configured as either doubles or twins, while an additional cabin on the bridge deck offers flexibility as a guest suite, lounge or study. Separate crew accommodation allows for up to 16 crew members onboard, supporting both private and charter use.
Powered by twin 2,000hp Caterpillar engines, Scott Free reaches 16 knots and cruises at 14 knots, with a range of up to 5,600 nautical miles. Stabilisation systems ensure comfort both underway and at anchor, while her long-range cruising capabilities are shared by superyacht Liva, another Abeking & Rasmussen yacht designed for extended voyages.
Scott Free was sold with Christian Bakewell and Kevin Kramer of Burgess representing the seller and Gary Hardcastle of Autograph Yacht Group representing the buyer at a last known asking price of €39,500,000.
