The two vessels, which were delivered to the same owner in August 2025, returned to the Dutch shipyard for works tailored to their operational requirements ahead of future cruising plans. According to Damen Yachting, the project was focused on preparing the fleet for ambitious global voyages and exploration in remote destinations.
A Purpose-Built Exploration Partnership
While many owners operate a single yacht, After You and Emotional were conceived as a complementary fleet designed to support extended cruising far beyond traditional yachting hotspots.
Delivered together in 2025, the pairing brings together a long-range explorer yacht and a dedicated support vessel capable of carrying additional equipment, tenders, toys, crew, and aviation infrastructure. The arrangement enables owners to undertake more ambitious itineraries while preserving guest space aboard the primary yacht.
It is always rewarding to welcome our yachts back to Vlissingen. Their return reflects the trust placed in our team, our facilities and the way we work together with the Owner’s team, the Crew and our own specialists. "

The concept has become increasingly popular among owners pursuing expedition-style cruising, where logistical support and self-sufficiency play a greater role than they would during a typical Mediterranean season.
After You: Built for Long-Range Exploration
Constructed at Damen Yachting's Antalya facility, the 60.1m After You represents the latest evolution of the builder's Xplorer 60 range. Designed by Azure Yacht Design, with naval architecture from Damen Yachting and interiors by H2 Yacht Design, the yacht was developed specifically for extended operation in remote regions.
A hybrid propulsion system forms a key part of the package, enabling diesel-electric cruising as well as battery-powered operation in environmentally sensitive areas. The explorer yacht also features Ice Class certification, engineering compliant with the IMO Polar Code, and a fully certified helideck, positioning her for operation in both tropical and polar environments.
With accommodation for 12 guests across six suites and quarters for 14 crew plus the captain, the superyacht has been designed for extended periods at sea. One of the standout interior spaces is an observation lounge with panoramic views, while a full-beam owner's suite anchors the accommodation layout.
Performance figures include a top speed of 14.5 knots and a cruising range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, supporting transoceanic passages and long-range expedition itineraries. The model also marked an important step in the development of the Xplorer series, paving the way for larger 80m and 105m variants currently offered by the Dutch builder.
Emotional: Expanding Capability Beyond the Mothership
Supporting the operation is the 53.25m yacht support vessel Emotional, a Damen YS 53 vessel developed to extend what owners can do during their time on the water.
Designed entirely in-house by Damen Yachting, Emotional follows the builder's Yacht Support concept, which adapts commercial offshore vessel expertise for use within private yacht fleets. The vessel can operate independently or alongside a mothership, providing additional capacity for tenders, toys, helicopters, specialist equipment, and operational personnel.
A defining feature is the expansive open main deck, which provides more than 200 square meters of usable space and is equipped with a 15-ton crane capable of handling large tenders, submersibles, and heavy equipment. The reinforced deck is also engineered for touch-and-go helicopter operations.
The yacht's distinctive Sea Axe bow and commercial-inspired hull design are intended to improve seakeeping and comfort during long passages, particularly in more challenging conditions. Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests alongside 13 crew and the captain, while interiors prioritize functionality and durability without sacrificing comfort during extended operations.
Recent Activity at Damen Yachting
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, the departure of After You and Emotional follows a busy period across Damen Yachting's new-build, support vessel, and brokerage divisions. In May, the yard launched its custom Damen 75m Hybrid expedition yacht from Vlissingen. Scheduled for delivery later this year, the project features hybrid propulsion, adaptable deck arrangements, and owner-focused interiors developed around long-range autonomous cruising.
Activity has also continued within the Damen Yacht Support range. Earlier this year, the fourth YS53 support vessel, Rafter, was launched at Damen Yachting's Antalya facility before progressing to sea trials ahead of her scheduled 2026 delivery. The latest unit continues the development of a product line that has now grown to more than 20 support vessels operating worldwide.
