Delta Marine’s 46 m Project Zembra Reaches Outfitting Stage

Delta Marine has announced a major milestone in the construction of superyacht Project Zembra, with the 46.3-metre explorer yacht’s hull and superstructure now successfully joined. The custom build, commissioned in 2023, will now progress to outfitting at the yard’s Seattle facility.

Commissioned by experienced owners with a passion for adventure, both licensed pilots and certified submarine operators, Project Zembra has been designed to enable global exploration by air and sea while still delivering the luxury and comfort expected of a modern superyacht.

With renderings showcasing a stylish finish in a striking metallic “Arizona bronze,” Project Zembra combines sharp, expedition-style lines with expansive windows for a refined yet purposeful aesthetic. She is built on Delta’s proven full-displacement hull platform, ensuring long-range capability and stability in challenging conditions.

Key features include a dedicated helicopter landing area on the sundeck, a two-passenger ICON A5 amphibious aircraft, and a three-passenger U-Boat Worx submersible for underwater discovery. Both can be launched and retrieved with ease thanks to a 3,500-pound SWL boom crane on the bridge deck and a gantry crane at the stern, engineered for safe and efficient deployment.

This fully transoceanic hull design is both versatile and exceptionally capable, continuing our legacy of building true global travelers for active clients.

Onboard, the Delta Marine yacht will accommodate up to ten guests across five cabins, including a full-beam master suite on the main deck and four spacious guest cabins below, one of which is wheelchair accessible. An elevator will provide access across all decks, enhancing accessibility for all guests.

Interior highlights will also include a convertible gym and a comprehensive collection of tenders and water toys, including a Williams Jet Tender, stowed discreetly to preserve the yacht’s clean profile.

With outfitting now underway, Project Zembra is set to emerge as a versatile explorer yacht for both private use and private charters, with a central agent already in place to advocate her inaugural yacht charter season upon delivery.

Explorer Yachts on the Horizon

The rise of explorer yachts like Project Zembra reflects a broader industry trend, with owners increasingly seeking yachts that combine long-range autonomy, rugged capability, and uncompromising luxury. Several standout projects are scheduled to hit the water in the coming months, underlining the momentum in this category.

Feadship’s 79.5 metre superyacht VALOR, formerly known as Project 715, due for delivery in 2025, will feature an ice-class hull designed for polar cruising, alongside eco-conscious technologies aimed at reducing her footprint in sensitive environments. Damen Yachting is also preparing to launch its Damen 75m Hybrid, a yacht blending hybrid propulsion with extensive storage for aircraft, submersibles, and a full suite of adventure gear.

Meanwhile, 60.5 metre polar expedition yacht HORIZON from Leapher Yachts, boasts up to 40 days of autonomy and luxury amenities ranging from a pool and sauna to a fully equipped diving room.

Together, these upcoming launches signal the strength of the explorer yacht segment, as more owners look beyond traditional cruising grounds and toward vessels that enable discovery, adventure, and independence on a global scale.
