The full-custom Lürssen project, styled by Frank Woll Design with interiors by Amy Halffman Designs, is progressing toward her scheduled 2026 delivery.
A Clearer Look at a Six Deck Superyacht
Unlike earlier footage captured in heavy fog, the newly released imagery offers an unobstructed view of Boardwalk’s sweeping six deck silhouette as she moves at speed offshore.
From the air, her proportions are immediately apparent. Long horizontal glazing bands run across the superstructure, while tiered decks create multiple outdoor terraces without interrupting the yacht’s flowing lines. Wide side decks and extended overhangs add depth to the profile while providing sheltered exterior spaces across several levels.
The drone footage also highlights the sheer scale of the yacht’s foredeck, where a full beam touch and go helipad dominates the bow. This aviation area forms a striking visual feature when viewed from above, framed by expansive teak decking and uninterrupted sightlines across the water.
Multi Level Aft Decks Designed for Leisure
More details at the stern are also revealed, where Boardwalk’s multi-level aft decks step down toward a wide swim platform.
A large rectangular pool sits on the main deck aft, paired with an integrated spa positioned toward its forward edge. Two decks above, the upper deck incorporates another recessed pool area, arranged with stepped seating and surrounding lounge space.
This layered arrangement creates several distinct social zones across the motor yacht rather than concentrating activity in a single area. Wide open terraces, paired staircases at the stern, and extensive teak decks reinforce the yacht’s emphasis on outdoor entertaining and waterside relaxation.
Dual Helipads and Large Scale Amenities
A defining feature visible in the sea trials footage is the yacht’s dual helipad arrangement. In addition to the large foredeck landing area, a second helipad sits on an upper aft deck, enabling helicopter operations without interrupting guest areas. This layout provides significant logistical flexibility for arrivals and transfers, particularly on extended cruising itineraries.
Beyond the aviation facilities, the yacht is expected to feature amenities including a beach club, spa facilities, gym, and multiple pool areas, along with an elevator connecting all guest decks.
While interior details remain largely private, the scale of the 5,350GT platform suggests expansive owner spaces and generous guest accommodation distributed throughout the yacht’s height.
Final Testing Ahead of 2026 Delivery
Sea trials represent one of the final technical milestones before completion. During this phase, engineers assess propulsion performance, stabilization systems, navigation equipment, and onboard systems under real operating conditions.
The footage released by Lürssen shows Boardwalk cruising confidently offshore as these tests continue, offering one of the clearest public views yet of the project as it nears delivery.
Once completed later this year, the yacht is expected to enter the YachtBuyer YB100 ranking of the world’s largest yachts by gross tonnage. With a volume of 5,350GT, Boardwalk will sit comfortably among the largest yachts in the world currently afloat, including the recently refitted and newly named 136m Hadar (previously Flying Fox), 126m Koru, and the impressive 162m Dubai.

From 76m to 117m - The Evolution of Boardwalk
The new Lürssen build replaces the owner’s previous yacht of the same name, a 76.5m Boardwalk V by Feadship delivered in 2021. While the earlier vessel measured around 1,900GT, the new Boardwalk rises dramatically to approximately 5,350GT. That increase in gross tonnage signals a major expansion in internal volume, creating far greater space for guest accommodation, leisure areas, and technical infrastructure.
The yacht spans six decks and measures 117m in length with a beam of roughly 17.2m. Her steel hull and aluminum superstructure are engineered for long range cruising and stable offshore performance, supported by twin screw diesel propulsion.
Lürssen’s Current Pipeline
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, Boardwalk forms part of a busy construction lineup at Lürssen, where 12 large custom yachts are currently progressing through various stages of build. The largest confirmed project is the 146.2m Project Defy, a 10,500GT superyacht scheduled for delivery in 2027 and notable for its five-tiered aft terraces, wide beach club, foredeck helipad, and full-size aft swimming pool.
Elsewhere in the order book are several other major builds approaching completion. The 114.2m Nausicaä, previously known as Project Cosmos, is a striking Marc Newson design due in 2026, distinguished by its sculptural exterior and experimental methanol fuel cell propulsion system. Another upcoming delivery is the 110m O3, an expedition-focused yacht with an X-Bow style hull and a certified helipad. O3 was also spotted on sea trials earlier in 2026 as construction moved into its final testing phase.
With sea trials now underway and final testing progressing, Boardwalk moves closer to her anticipated delivery later in 2026.
