The steel-built Bering 88 explorer yacht measures 26.2m overall and continues the yard’s focus on long-range cruising platforms designed for extended time at sea.
Built entirely in-house by Bering Yachts, the Bering 88 features a steel hull engineered for durability and offshore capability. The yard also handled the expedition yacht’s naval architecture and overall design development.
Spacious Interior Layout for Long-Range Cruising
The Bering 88 offers more than 256 square meters of interior space, giving the yacht the feel of a much larger vessel despite its compact explorer dimensions. The layout accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins.
At the center of the arrangement is a full-beam master stateroom positioned to take advantage of the yacht’s 8.1m beam. Four additional guest cabins complete the guest accommodation, while separate crew quarters house up to five crew members to support extended cruising.
We believe this is one of the strongest explorer yachts in the sub-24-meter class. We put all our expertise into this yacht to make her thoughtful, comfortable, and logical for both guests and crew. The result is a highly competitive boat full of smart, standout solutions that actually make a real difference at sea."
- Kristina Güner, Creative Director at Bering Yachts
The layout focuses on practicality for long voyages, with substantial storage and provisioning space designed to support weeks at sea without relying on marina infrastructure. The explorer yacht’s internal volume of 235GT further reinforces the emphasis on usable interior space.
Wide Beam and Steel Hull
Exterior deck areas prioritize comfortable living outdoors. Expanded social spaces provide room for open-air dining, lounging, and entertaining, creating several gathering points across the superyacht.
The Bering 88 carries the rugged styling typical of the shipyard’s explorer range, paired with a heavy-duty steel hull and substantial displacement of 225 metric tons at full load. Her relatively deep 2.4m draft and wide beam underline the design’s focus on stability and ocean-going capability.
These design choices position the model firmly within the expedition-style segment, aimed at owners planning extended cruising itineraries rather than short coastal trips.
Built for Transoceanic Cruising
The Bering 88 is powered by twin Cummins QSM11 engines producing 450 horsepower each. This propulsion setup supports a cruising speed of around 8.5 knots and a maximum speed of approximately 10.5 knots.
Fuel capacity of nearly 39,800 liters gives the yacht a transoceanic cruising range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles when traveling at her cruising speed. Combined with water capacity of nearly 3,000 liters, the yacht is designed to sustain long-distance passages with minimal resupply.
Where the Bering 88 Fits in the Explorer Lineup
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the Bering 88 sits between the smaller Bering 82 and the larger Bering 110 and Bering 120 models in the Bering Yachts Explorer Yachts series. At 23.44m, the Bering 82 represents a more compact entry into the steel explorer range, accommodating up to eight guests across four cabins and offering a range of around 4,000 nautical miles.
Above the Bering 88, the 33.1m Bering 110 expands the concept further with larger interior and exterior areas and the same 10-guest capacity, while the flagship 37.14m Bering 120 steps firmly into superyacht territory, accommodating up to 12 guests across six cabins with increased crew capacity and more extensive onboard amenities.
The launch of Sayna marks another step forward for Bering Yachts as it continues to develop its long-range explorer lineup. With sea trials expected next, the Bering 88 will soon demonstrate how its design translates to real-world expedition cruising.
