More Details

Aqua Life is a 27.45m motor yacht for sale delivered by Taiwanese shipyard Horizon in 2019. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Cor D. Rover Design.

Key Features

  • Enclosed Skyline upper deck
  • 187GT high-volume interior
  • Hydraulic beach club platform
  • Zero-speed fin stabilisers

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.08m beam and a 1.75m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 187 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the fifth yacht built on the FD87 design.

Exterior Design

The 27.45m (90ft) Horizon FD87 Skyline AQUA LIFE was designed by Cor D. Rover as part of Horizon’s Fast Displacement series, a range built around maximising internal volume without losing long-range cruising ability or modern exterior appeal. The result is a yacht that feels notably larger than her length suggests, helped by a substantial 7.07m (23.2ft) beam carried well forward into the bow sections.

Her profile leans into a purposeful “SUV yacht” look, mixing strong geometric lines with broad glazing and a near-vertical plumb bow. The extended waterline improves efficiency and stability while also giving the FD87 a more commanding stance underway. Large blacked-out window sections contrast against the white superstructure and visually reduce the yacht’s bulk, particularly across the enclosed Skyline upper deck.

Unlike a traditional open flybridge arrangement, AQUA LIFE uses Horizon’s enclosed Skyline configuration, replacing the exposed bridge deck with a fully enclosed upper lounge surrounded by oversized vertical glazing. The arrangement adds another climate-controlled social space while maintaining direct connection to the exterior decks through large sliding glass doors aft.

Outdoor living centres heavily around the stern. The hydraulic transom opens into a dedicated beach club complete with integrated sofa seating, refrigeration, freezers, television and sit-up bar. Combined with the hydraulic swim platform, the entire aft section becomes a practical waterside entertaining zone with direct access for swimming and launching toys.

The aft bridge deck adds another outdoor social area with a glass-topped bar, dining table and davit crane for launching jet skis or tenders. Forward, the bow lounge provides a more private retreat with deep seating beneath a removable awning and large sunpads positioned closer to the waterline.

The FD87’s wide beam also allows for generous walkaround decks and a practical Portuguese bridge arrangement around the forward superstructure. While many yachts in this category prioritise aggressive styling over usability, AQUA LIFE balances strong exterior lines with genuinely functional deck circulation and protected outdoor spaces suited to longer cruising periods.

Interior Design

Inside, AQUA LIFE uses a warmer, more traditional finish than many contemporary yachts in this size range. High-gloss cherry wood cabinetry runs throughout the interior, paired with lighter soft furnishings and large window sections that prevent the spaces from feeling heavy despite the darker timber finish.

The main saloon benefits directly from the FD87’s unusually broad beam. Full-height windows stretch across both sides of the room and bring substantial natural light into the lounge and dining areas. The layout remains open and social while still feeling practical for extended cruising.

A lounge area aft connects naturally with the formal dining space positioned forward. The galley sits nearby and uses a high-low island partition arrangement, allowing the space to operate either as part of the social layout or as a more enclosed service area when crew privacy is preferred.

The enclosed Skyline upper deck changes the atmosphere onboard quite dramatically compared with a conventional flybridge yacht. Rather than acting purely as an exterior helm station, the upper level becomes a second interior lounge complete with desk space, sofa seating and triple helm chairs. Sliding glass doors open directly onto the aft bridge deck dining and bar area, so the space still maintains strong airflow and connection with the outside environment.

Accommodation

AQUA LIFE accommodates up to 10 guests across five ensuite cabins, led by a full-beam owner’s suite positioned on the main deck. The cabin benefits from oversized windows that bring in substantial natural light while helping reduce the sense of separation from the water outside.

The owner’s suite includes a dressing table, ensuite bathroom and sliding partitions that allow the spaces to open up more naturally within the cabin footprint. Positioning the master cabin on the main deck also separates the owner from the guest accommodation below and gives the suite a quieter, more private feel during extended stays onboard.

Four additional guest cabins sit on the lower deck and comprise three double cabins alongside one twin cabin with convertible arrangement. All cabins include ensuite bathrooms and continue the yacht’s cherry wood finish alongside lighter fabrics and contemporary detailing.

Crew accommodation supports up to four crew across separate captain and crew cabins positioned independently from guest spaces.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C18 Acert) 1,136hp engines, motor yacht Aqua Life is capable of reaching a top speed of 19 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

Amenities

In addition, a beach club allows for easy access to the water and allows those on board to easily unwind. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. The sundeck is the social hub of the yacht and an inviting spread of sunpads.
