Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14.6m beam and a 3.9m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 2,965 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2021. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in April 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2024.
Exterior Design
At 91.8m (301.2ft), Drizzle has the long, composed profile associated with modern Feadships, but Drizzle avoids looking heavy despite her volume. The dark navy hull pulls the eye low to the waterline while the white superstructure steps upward in clean, rounded layers. From above, the deck arrangement looks unusually balanced. There is very little visual clutter, with wide teak surfaces and carefully concealed technical equipment giving the yacht an almost architectural feel.
The foredeck is particularly clean. The bow stretches forward in one uninterrupted teak expanse, framed only by slim guardrails and a recessed seating area tucked against the superstructure. Seen head-on, the flare of the bow becomes much clearer. The hull widens softly above the waterline before narrowing sharply toward the stem, which gives the yacht a planted stance without looking aggressive.
A recurring theme across the exterior is how the deck spaces layer into one another rather than feeling isolated. The aft decks descend gradually toward the sea through broad staircases that visually widen the stern. From above, the beach club arrangement becomes the focal point of the yacht. The lower platform extends across nearly the full beam, while fold-down terraces increase the usable footprint at water level. The pool positioned one deck above creates a natural centrepiece between the upper lounging spaces and the beach area below.
Drizzle's exterior shows how much attention went into shade and outdoor usability. Large removable awnings cover sections of the beach club and lower aft deck, while the upper observation deck sits beneath a substantial hardtop integrated into the mast structure. Rather than exposing guests entirely to the sun, the yacht creates pockets of shelter across multiple levels, which suits the family-oriented brief behind the design.
The mast itself forms a major part of the profile. Rising above the sundeck, the vertical communications tower and clustered domes add height and technical presence, but the surrounding deckhouses remain low and flowing. Even with the tenders stored on the upper aft deck, the yacht retains clean sightlines from bow to stern. A side-loading tender garage gives another space for the 10m tenders and allows the aft section to remain dedicated to guest use.
Interior Design
The interiors have been designed to provide an understated family home. On the upper decks, the family lounge, wellness area, and master stateroom are strategically placed to offer privacy and tranquility.
On the main deck forward are the guest rooms and crew cabins, all finished to a high standard.
Accommodation
Drizzle offers accommodation for up to 14 guests in 7 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 18 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Drizzle is fully classified under Hybrid Electric Class notation. This classification underscores the yacht's sophisticated energy management system and hybrid propulsion technology, which integrates both traditional and electric power sources.
The yacht is powered by two robust MTU 16V4000M65L diesel engines, each delivering a formidable 2560 kW at 1800 RPM. These engines are the heart of the propulsion system, driving the yacht to a maximum speed of 17.5 knots. At a more conservative cruising speed of 12 knots, Drizzle demonstrates efficiency and endurance with a substantial range of 5,500 nautical miles, allowing for extensive voyages without the need for frequent refueling.
Complementing the main engines are three Caterpillar C18 generators, each producing 465 ekW. These generators are essential not only for providing electrical power to the yacht's systems but also for supporting the hybrid functionality.
The electric aspect of the yacht's hybrid system consists of two electric motors with Power Take-Off/Power Take-In (PTO/PTI) functions, each rated at 560 kW. These motors can either generate electrical power by harnessing the rotation of the shafts while the main engines are running or operate as propulsion units themselves, drawing energy from the yacht's battery bank.
Speaking of the battery bank, Drizzle houses a substantial 1029 kWh lithium-ion battery capacity. This energy reserve can be utilized for silent and emission-free operation at low speeds, reducing the yacht's environmental footprint and enhancing the onboard experience.
