Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement ice class steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 10.8m beam and a 3.35m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 902 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2016 with the keel laid under the project name 'Promise'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in November 2018.
Exterior Design
The exterior of Promise presents a composed, capable exterior, built for real exploration, but unmistakably Feadship in finish and detail. Her silhouette is purposeful and composed, defined by a clean white hull, dark boot stripe, and a strong horizontal emphasis created by evenly spaced rectangular windows across multiple decks. The superstructure steps back in tidy tiers, giving the yacht a grounded, confident presence on the water.
As the first Feadship to receive Ice Class notation, Promise was engineered for light ice navigation. This adds a layer of robustness to her structure - thicker hull plating, a strengthened bow, and a higher freeboard with minimal hull openings all support safer operation in colder, remote regions.
Her classification also includes ECO and UMS notations, pointing to thoughtful environmental design and systems capable of extended autonomous operation. At the aft, a touch and go helipad aids her long-range cruising intent with the ability to access isolated areas.
Interior Design
The decor of Promise, by Bannenberg & Rowell, leans toward a refined, modernist style with a distinct calm. The palette is mostly neutral - soft creams, greys, and muted browns - used across low-profile furnishings, swivel chairs and layered textures. Accents appear in select areas through cushions, decorative objects, and occasional splashes of rust, navy or gold.
Furniture is sculptural but understated, with curved forms, clean lines, and generous proportions. Surfaces vary between matte and polished, including pale woods, brushed metals, and lacquered finishes, creating quiet visual contrast. Art and objects feel curated, with standout features like a bold mid-century modern geometric cabinet and comic-style artwork. Lyrics to the John Lennon song "Imagine" are cut into metal panels to provide a focal point.
Lighting is recessed or indirect, used to define spaces subtly rather than dominate them. The use of space feels open and flowing, anchored by broad sightlines and large windows.
Accommodation
Promise. offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 6 suites comprising two owners cabins, 2 double cabins and 2 single cabins. Additionally, there are 2 staff cabins aboard which can accommodate up to 4 members of the owners staff and security team. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
