78m Lürssen superyacht Rocinante listed for sale

The 78m superyacht Rocinante has entered the market, presenting buyers with a rare opportunity to acquire a pedigree Lürssen vessel fresh from a comprehensive 2024 refit and major class survey.

Delivered in 2008, Rocinate's naval architecture and exterior design are by Espen Oeino International, with interiors by Alberto Pinto, and she returned to Lürssen in 2024 for a 10-month refit that included a new bridge, full repaint, AV-IT upgrades, and completion of her 15-year survey.

She is set to attend the 2026 Palm Beach International Boat Show from March 25-29.

Pinto’s interior reads contemporary and bright, with large windows pulling daylight deep into the main guest spaces. The upper deck of the yacht for sale stands out as a social hub, where a circular dining table sits inside a glass-lined room with windows that fully open to the deck outside, creating a true inside-outside dining setup without breaking the flow of service.

Wellness is also treated as a core part of the layout rather than an add-on. On the lower deck, Rocinante carries a full spa suite with hammam, massage room, and beauty salon, plus a gym that opens to a fold-down balcony for fresh-air training at anchor. A guest elevator links the decks, which matters on a five-deck yacht designed for long stays aboard and mixed-age groups moving between cabins, dining, and waterside areas throughout the day.

Oeino’s profile keeps a purposeful, modern edge, with sharp lines and the kind of proportion control expected from a high-volume Lurssen. The light blue hull and white superstructure sharpen that look further, while large radar domes draw the eye upward and reduce the sense of bulk across the yacht’s gross tonnage of 2,334GT.

Across the exterior decks, Rocinante focuses on flexible guest use rather than one headline terrace. The sundeck centers on a jetstream pool with a nearby Jacuzzi, backed by multiple lounge zones that suit everything from quiet mornings to larger groups. The bridge deck carries a regulation helideck with refueling capability, supporting the “ready to roam” brief that shaped the original build, and reinforcing the positioning of the motor yacht for sale as more than a static, dockside platform.

As currently marketed, Rocinante hosts up to 14 guests in seven cabins, led by a full owner’s suite with an office area, twin dressing rooms, and access to a private deck with Jacuzzi and sunbathing space. The owner’s deck placement gives that suite genuine separation from the yacht’s main social areas, which suits longer cruising with family and guests moving on different schedules.

Forward of the suite, an onboard hospital sits adjacent and was previously configured as an eighth double cabin, with a simple reconversion noted as possible if a future owner prioritizes extra guest berths over medical capability. Crew numbers are presented at up to 25-26 across 12 cabins plus a dedicated captain’s cabin, with additional staff accommodation referenced as well, underlining the yacht’s operational focus and the scale of service expected aboard a vessel of this volume.

Power comes from twin Caterpillar engines, with brokers quoting a maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles at cruising speed, and the 2024 shipyard period is positioned as a major value point for a buyer weighing readiness against refit risk. With the 15-year survey completed, a new bridge installed, and broad technical and guest-area upgrades signed off, Rocinante enters the market as a large-volume Lurssen that has already absorbed the downtime and disruption that often follows a purchase at this size.

According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, Rocinante is on the market with Y.CO and is currently asking €88,500,000.

Rocinante joins an established Lurssen fleet that also includes the 136m Flying Fox, the 95m Whisper, and the 90m expedition yacht Ice, underscoring the breadth and scale of the German yard’s custom portfolio across both classic and explorer platforms.
