The 60m Amels 60 superyacht QU2 was handed over to her owner following sea trials in the North Sea and a private naming ceremony at Damen Yachting’s City yard in Vlissingen. She joins the Dutch builder’s Amels Limited Editions range, pairing the established technical platform of the series with a highly personalized interior by Winch Design.
Exterior styling comes from Espen Øino, while naval architecture has been developed in-house by Damen Yachting.
A Refined Interior Direction Across the Decks
The yacht features a neutral interior concept shaped by natural materials and tonal variation. Winch Design has developed a scheme influenced by Pacific landscapes, using timber, stone, leather, and marble to create a layered onboard atmosphere with a calm, contemporary feel.
As she departs, we wish her fair winds, following seas, and many memorable voyages ahead. Amels 60 QU2 is a strong expression of what our Limited Editions approach makes possible."

Each deck introduces subtle changes in tone and texture, transitioning from warmer finishes on the lower deck to cooler palettes across the main guest areas. This gradual shift creates a visual distinction between spaces while maintaining continuity throughout the motor yacht. A defining feature within the interior is the sculptural central staircase, framed by a backlit onyx wall. Designed as both a circulation point and visual centerpiece, the staircase links the decks through an organic architectural form that aligns with the wider interior language.
Exterior Spaces Designed for Practical Use
Externally, the superyacht retains the angular and structured profile characteristic of the Amels 60 series, including the recognisable trapezoidal windows around the owner’s suite. The design focuses on maintaining clean lines while integrating functional outdoor spaces suited to extended time onboard.
The 29-metre sundeck forms a central feature of the layout, offering a combination of leisure and operational flexibility. Configured with a Jacuzzi, bar, dining area, and open deck space, it can also be adapted for helicopter use. Forward, the helipad supports aircraft up to 3,000kg, while a concealed crane system allows for efficient handling of tenders and watercraft without disrupting the deck arrangement.
Layout and Guest Accommodation
The yacht is arranged to accommodate up to 12 guests across six cabins, with additional capacity for 13 crew in seven cabins plus the captain. The layout is designed to maintain a clear separation between guest and crew areas while ensuring efficient circulation throughout the vessel. Spaces such as the beach club act as transitional zones, strengthening the connection between interior living areas and the sea.
Shared areas are arranged to transition naturally between indoor and outdoor living, particularly around the beach club and aft deck areas. This balance between guest comfort and operational practicality forms part of the wider Amels Limited Editions approach, where proven technical foundations are adapted around each owner’s requirements.
Performance and Hybrid Capability
Performance is supported by a hybrid propulsion system based on twin MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines. QU2 is capable of reaching a top speed of 15.5 knots and cruising at 13 knots, with a range of approximately 4,500 nautical miles at cruising speed.
The hybrid system allows for multiple operating modes, including silent running at lower speeds using electric power, as well as more conventional cruising and full-power operation. This flexibility supports a range of usage profiles, from quieter passages to longer-distance cruising.
A Busy Build Programme at Amels
The delivery of QU2 comes during an active period for Amels, with several projects progressing. These include the 80m Netto II, due to launch in 2026, featuring exterior design by Espen Øino and interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, with accommodation for 14 guests and a range of 5,000 nautical miles. Also in build is the 60m Amels 6010, scheduled for 2027, with interiors by Laura Sessa Romboli, offering six cabins for 12 guests and a range of 4,500 nautical miles, continuing the development of the Amels 60 platform.
