Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement w/ bulbous bow steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 17.2m beam and a 4.5m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 5,350 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2023 with the keel laid under the project name 'Lurssen 13797'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in December 2025 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2026.

Exterior Design

BOARDWALK carries a long, sculpted six-deck profile that blends traditional superyacht proportions with unusually soft architectural surfacing. Frank Woll’s exterior design avoids aggressive angles or overtly contemporary styling gestures, instead using flowing convex forms and long horizontal deck lines to create a sense of movement across the yacht’s immense 117m (384.2ft) length.

The bow stretches forward into a fine, tapering entry with a certified full-beam helipad occupying most of the foredeck. From above, the scale becomes even clearer, with the helipad integrated directly into the teak deck layout and framed by broad walkaround side decks extending aft along the yacht’s full length.

The superstructure rises in smooth stepped tiers, each level recessed slightly to form protected exterior terraces without interrupting the continuity of the profile. Long glazing bands run through the main guest decks and visually separate the bright white superstructure from the hull below, helping reduce the apparent bulk of the yacht’s 5,602GT volume.

BOARDWALK’s aft arrangement introduces some of the yacht’s most distinctive exterior features. The main aft deck incorporates a large flush pool paired with an adjoining spa pool recessed into the deck itself, while wide twin staircases descend symmetrically toward the beach club below. A retractable structural deck section conceals the stairwell leading down into the beach club and seals flush into the deck when closed, creating one of the more technically unusual features yet seen aboard a Lürssen.

Further above, the upper deck incorporates a second dual-pool installation recessed into the deck structure beneath the observation level, while the upper aft helipad creates a second aviation zone positioned above the yacht’s entertainment decks.

The exterior detailing relies heavily on light and reflection. According to Lürssen, BOARDWALK carries approximately 3,000 exterior lighting points integrated throughout the decks and superstructure, giving the yacht a highly layered appearance after dark while reinforcing the flowing curves of the exterior architecture.

Interior Design

BOARDWALK’s interior combines classical detailing with highly sculpted contemporary forms. Frank Woll collaborated with the late Amy Halffman, Suzanne Glover and Teresa Francis to create spaces built around movement, reflection and light rather than heavily ornamented styling.

High-gloss burled mahogany appears throughout the interior alongside polished stainless steel and curved architectural forms, creating a noticeably rich finish. Double-convex surfaces and carefully positioned lighting elements were developed to reflect and diffuse light through the interior spaces.

The interior layout prioritises openness across circulation areas. Corridors were reportedly widened as far as structural limitations would allow, while the long glazing sections running through the guest decks help maintain visual connection to the exterior throughout much of the yacht.

Among the more unusual interior features is the glass-walled catwalk running through the engine room. Rather than concealing the technical spaces entirely, the design turns the machinery area into a visible architectural feature, giving the engineering spaces a gallery-like presentation rarely seen aboard yachts of this scale.

BOARDWALK also incorporates a cinema, dedicated spa and gym areas, multiple lounge environments and extensive formal and informal entertaining spaces spread across the six-deck arrangement. Exterior and interior transitions appear intentionally softened through the use of recessed terraces, broad glazing and continuous deck materials.

Accommodation

BOARDWALK accommodates up to 14 guests across seven suites, alongside accommodation for up to 48 crew members.

The guest accommodation layout was developed around family use and extended stays onboard, with cabins arranged to maximise privacy as well as direct connection to exterior deck areas. Several guest suites feature glass doors opening directly onto the wide side decks, creating private terrace-like spaces rarely possible aboard yachts with more enclosed superstructure arrangements.

A forward VIP suite occupies a particularly prominent position and includes a private exterior lounge overlooking the bow, as well as an onyx-finished ensuite bathroom.

Crew accommodation for 48 reflects the operational scale of the yacht itself.

Tenders

Tender handling and operational capability remain substantial despite the yacht’s highly polished appearance. Large garage spaces house three custom 12m (40ft) Hodgdon tenders, an amphibious tender, multiple off-road vehicles and additional land-based equipment, while the broad deck spacing allows crew circulation to remain relatively discreet across the yacht’s scale.
