Somnium's exterior design and naval architecture were developed by De Voogt Naval Architects, while the interior was created by FM - Architettura di Interni, resulting in a fully custom Feadship yacht conceived for family cruising and long-range use.
Somnium’s interior is guided by a Galápagos Islands theme, translating natural forms and textures into a calm, layered onboard environment. The main saloon of the yacht sets the tone with lagoon-inspired carpeting, ceiling marquetry that mimics light on water, and furniture finished in warm, natural hues. Bronze accents appear throughout, including custom coffee tables and detailing that references volcanic terrain and island wildlife without becoming literal.
The dining area continues this approach with a bespoke table, leather-wrapped framing, and an embossed bronze surface. A custom light fitting introduces subtle patterning inspired by nature, while 3D textile panels by Helen Amy Murray add depth and movement near the dining entrance. On the upper deck, a semi-circular sofa defines a relaxed lounge described by the designers as a cocoon-like family space, intended for informal gatherings and movie nights.
A standout feature of the motor yacht is the expansive foredeck terrace. Originally envisioned as a simple seating area, it evolved into a multi-use space with flexible furniture arrangements and a sunpad protected by its own windscreen. Aft, the decision to locate the tender garage forward freed up space at sea level for a beach club, pool, and gym, reinforcing the yacht’s family-focused deck layout.
Somnium’s exterior departs from the traditional look of a full-displacement yacht through her all-aluminium construction and streamlined profile. Designed by De Voogt under the direction of Ruud Bakker, the yacht draws clear inspiration from high-performance automotive design, with long forward lines, sculpted aft sections, and detailing that echoes sports car diffusers and classic grille motifs.
Somnium accommodates up to 12 guests across six cabins, arranged to support multi-generational use. The owner’s suite spans the main deck and includes an off-center bed, seating area, private balcony, and a panoramic office space overlooking the water. The material palette remains soft and tactile, with antique-finished mirrors used to add depth without visual clutter.
Built with a displacement aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, Somnium has an internal gross tonnage of 744 GT with a 9.8m beam and a shallow 2.65m draft. Power comes from twin MTU 10V 2000 M72 engines, delivering a top speed of around 15 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 12 knots. At 10 knots, the yacht offers a range of approximately 4,970 nautical miles, supporting long-distance itineraries.
Somnium had a last known asking price of €57,500,000.
