Project 715, now christened motor yacht Valor, was built for a repeat Feadship client and is specifically engineered to undertake long-range expeditions - including Arctic voyages - with comfort, autonomy, and minimal environmental impact.

Constructed with a steel hull and a high-volume platform, Valor is designed to meet Bureau Veritas Young Ice 2 notation thanks to a reinforced two-metre ice belt above and below the waterline. This feature allows the yacht to explore remote and inhospitable regions, such as the Northwest Passage, without compromise.

Under the hood, Valor features a next-generation hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system developed under Feadship's Advanced Electrical Drive (FAED) program. The yacht draws power from four ultra-efficient, variable-speed generators connected to a DC grid, feeding a massive 5.34MWh lithium-ion battery bank sourced from Norway - over five times the capacity of the pioneering Savannah launched in 2015.
Complementing this system is a high-efficiency solar array and the ability to run on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) biofuel, which can cut carbon emissions by up to 90%. The yacht can operate for up to 48 hours on battery power alone, enabling silent and zero-emission cruising in sensitive marine environments. Her propulsion system includes twin Schottel EcoPeller azimuthing thrusters, a Schottel Rim-Drive bow thruster, and Quantum Marine Stabilizers - combining for ultra-efficient maneuverability and comfort.
Designed To Command Attention
Styled by Chris Bottoms at Studio De Voogt, Valor's bold profile fuses elements of military vessels and luxury yachts. From her dreadnought bow to her sculpted superstructure, the owner requested something "recognisable from outer space," deliberately avoiding the typical tiered or curvaceous profiles found on many yachts.

Chris Bottoms at Studio De Voogt did an amazing job of listening to the owner’s ideas and interpreting them, creating a bold, confident, and aesthetically pleasing exterior design.
The yacht includes walk-around upper decks, a dedicated owner's deck with private Jacuzzi and lounge, and features designed for the owner's three Golden Retrievers - including a grass-filled relief station and outdoor shower.

Luxury Interiors Meet Precision Craftsmanship
The interior by Bannenberg & Rowell (B&R) prioritises natural materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Wood, stone, bronze, and glass come together in understated harmony, layered with high-end furnishings from George Nakashima, Linley, Pollaro, and Silver Lining. The main staircase alone features over 48,000 components, and the yacht is dotted with bespoke highlights, including billet titanium director’s chairs and rare stone sourced directly from Italian quarries.
Entertainment systems include dual vertical stacks of McIntosh audio equipment - complete with a reference-level record player and vinyl library - adding a nostalgic touch to this futuristic yacht.
Guest accommodations include six main deck suites and a vast owner’s suite with panoramic views, office, dressing room, and access to private outdoor areas. An elevator connects all six decks, from the sundeck Jacuzzi to the beach club and wellness zone below.

With a cruising speed of 11 knots and a top speed exceeding 15 knots, Valor balances expedition functionality with global range and comfort. She is now entering her final outfitting phase ahead of sea trials and will make her public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025. She is also a contender for the World Superyacht Awards.
Big in Innovation - But Not in the Record Books
Despite her technical innovation and striking presence, Valor will not qualify for the lists of the world's largest yachts by length or volume. Her gross tonnage is listed at 2,117 GT - well below the current threshold of 2,950 GT needed to enter the YachtBuyer Y100, which ranks the 100 largest yachts in the world by internal volume.
In previous years, an 80-metre yacht of this pedigree would have easily made the cut. However, the superyacht landscape has changed rapidly. A recent surge in 100m+ deliveries has redefined the upper echelon of yachting, pushing out many sub-90m vessels from the top volume rankings. Feadship’s own order book for 2025 includes several such contenders, including the 118.8m Breakthrough (7,247 GT) and the 101m Moonrise (4,000 GT).

While Valor may not break records for size, she is a benchmark for what’s possible when cutting-edge technology meets uncompromising custom design. In many ways, she embodies the future of sustainable yachting more than any behemoth afloat today.
