Having made its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2021, the wallywhy200 marked a turning point for Wally. Now, with 13 units delivered worldwide, it arrives in Fort Lauderdale as one of the most recognizable crossover yachts on the market.
Designed by Wally founder Luca Bassani in collaboration with Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department, the yacht’s naval architecture is by Laurent Giles and interior design by A. Vallicelli & C. Studio.
Rewriting the Rules of Volume
The wallywhy200 was conceived as a “spaceship” for the sea, prioritizing light, space, and stability. Built in GRP with a displacement hull, it reaches a 200-gross-ton volume while maintaining a load line length under 24 meters, keeping operational costs and regulatory requirements below those of larger yachts.

The design centers on a full-wide body concept that eliminates exterior walkways to expand interior volume. This layout creates a 61-square-meter main salon - around 50 percent more than comparable yachts - framed by uninterrupted glass and a carbon-fiber staircase laminated in a single structural piece. The result is an open, loft-like environment with strong visual continuity from bow to stern.
Interior Innovation and the “Wow Bow”
One of the yacht’s defining features is its forward master suite - a 37-square-meter cabin suspended within a 4.7-meter-high glazed bow. Wraparound glass delivers an uninterrupted 270-degree sea view, giving the impression of floating above the waterline. This feature helped the model secure multiple design awards, including “Most Avant-Garde Yacht” at the World Yachts Trophies and “Outstanding Lifestyle Feature” at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards.

Throughout the superyacht, A. Vallicelli & C. Studio’s interior design emphasizes clean geometry, contemporary finishes, and visual connection between spaces. The absence of bulkheads enhances the sense of openness that defines the yacht’s character.

YachtBuyer reviewed the wallywhy200 in 2022, highlighting its radical design, spacious architecture, and standout performance within the 27-meter class. Check out the full review below.
Exterior Spaces and Living at the Waterline
The wallywhy200’s exterior matches its architectural ambition with a sharp, futuristic profile and sculpted surfaces in glass and carbon. A pillarless overhang shelters the main aft deck, where dining and lounging areas open directly to the salon through sliding glass doors.

Above, the skylounge and raised aft deck offer panoramic views beneath Wally’s signature glass-and-carbon dome, extending the living space upward with a wet bar and shaded seating.

A highlight of the motor yacht's design is its transformable beach club. Fold-out wings expand the aft platform to more than 30 square meters, while a hydraulic platform lowers to create a swim terrace or serves as a passerelle. A 4.15-meter tender and additional water toys are stored invisibly within the transom, maintaining the yacht’s clean aesthetic when underway.

Naval architect Laurent Giles optimized the hull for both comfort and efficiency, completing extensive tank testing in Southampton to refine its form for stability and performance. Paired with a Volvo Penta IPS 1350 system, the wallywhy200 achieves a top speed of 23 knots and cruises comfortably at 20 knots, with a range of around 1,000 nautical miles.

As it heads for its first U.S. appearance at FLIBS 2025, the wallywhy200 reinforces Wally’s reputation for forward-thinking design and engineering detail.
YachtBuyer-Reviewed Alternatives to the wallywhy200 at FLIBS 2025
Buyers drawn to the wallywhy200’s architectural volume and futuristic aesthetic will find several compelling counterparts at this year’s show.
Mirroring Wally’s focus on architectural transparency and long-range cruising comfort, the Ferretti INFYNITO 90 offers a raised pilothouse design and open-plan interior centered around natural light and fluid circulation. Its serene atmosphere and emphasis on sea connection make it an ideal counterpart for buyers drawn to the wallywhy200’s balance of form and function.

The Azimut Magellano 30M represents the builder’s interpretation of a modern crossover yacht, pairing a semi-displacement hull with refined indoor-outdoor continuity for efficient long-range cruising and understated luxury. Designed by Ken Freivokh with interiors by De Cotiis Architects, it offers a sculptural, elegant approach to the same lifestyle ideals behind Wally’s success. In contrast, the Sanlorenzo SP92 caters to those seeking a sportier edge within a similar size range, defined by open decks, crisp geometry, and flexible living spaces that capture a faster, more athletic expression of contemporary yacht design.
As it heads to its U.S. debut at FLIBS 2025, the wallywhy200 cements Wally’s reputation for design precision and spatial innovation. With its bold architecture and award-winning layout, it remains one of the most distinctive yachts in its class.
