Numarine Launches the New 40MXP Flagship Explorer Yacht Miouch

With two further hulls already under construction for delivery in 2025, the 40m flagship explorer yacht Miouch by Numarine has officially been launched.

As the first unit of the Numarine 40MXP series, the new model is positioned as a long-range, high-volume superyacht designed to elevate the outdoor lifestyle experience while retaining the core expedition-ready DNA of the series.

The 40MXP - short for “Mediterranean Explorer” - builds on the proven platform of the Numarine 37XP, offering enhanced outdoor amenities and a more expansive aft section without compromising on range or functionality.

Mediterranean Living Aft

The key structural update on the 40MXP explorer yacht lies in its lengthened hull and the reconfiguration of the aft deck. By subtly moving the main saloon’s sliding doors forward, Numarine has created a notably larger aft terrace that now serves as a signature space for outdoor entertaining. The deck features a full-beam hydraulic swim platform, a large lounge and dining area, and a bar - all anchored by a glass-fronted pool that serves as the centerpiece of the space.

Preserving the same stylistic cues and DNA of all our models, the 40MXP retains our high-volume, low-maintenance, long-range ethos while offering a number of new design features that enhance the intimate connection with the sea that a yacht provides.”

An optional awning provides shade and comfort for extended stays outdoors, catering to warmer cruising regions such as the Mediterranean, Australia, or the southeastern United States. Above, the yacht retains the expansive flybridge and generous upper deck arrangements that have defined previous XP models.

Inside the 40MXP

The 40MXP has been styled inside and out by designer Can Yalman. The interiors of the motor yacht are designed to maximize usable volume while offering the sense of openness and privacy typical of much larger yachts. The main deck benefits from a full-beam layout, with the saloon leading into the master suite forward, while floor-to-ceiling windows heighten the connection with the surrounding sea.

Chris Gore, Sales & Marketing Director at Numarine, described the 40MXP as offering “true luxury blended with versatility,” and pointed to its suitability for both private family cruising and the charter market.

Ready for Family or Charter Use

Guest accommodation on board the superyacht includes six staterooms for up to 12 guests, with the owner’s suite occupying a prime position forward on the main deck. Additional guest cabins can be customized according to owner preferences, while crew are housed in dedicated quarters below.

The 40MXP also features a capacious tender deck with space to carry a 9-meter tender, three full-size jet skis, and a selection of additional water toys - underlining its credentials as a serious adventure yacht.

Optimized for Ocean Range

The naval architecture of the expedition yacht was developed by Umberto Tagliavini, a longstanding partner of the shipyard, ensuring that its performance capabilities remain firmly in line with the XP Series' exploration ethos. The yacht offers an impressive transoceanic range of 6,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 8 knots.

Standard propulsion comes from twin MAN 800hp engines, while owners can opt for an upgraded Tier III-compliant 900hp configuration, aligning with current environmental standards.

40MXP’s Bigger Sister: The 47MXP

For those seeking a larger platform within the Numarine Mediterranean Explorer range, the Numarine 47MXP brings added volume, upgraded power, and a more expansive beach club layout. Built on the same proven hull form as the 45XP but stretched to 46.7 meters, this steel-hulled explorer delivers enhanced space both inside and out, with a gross tonnage of 498GT.

Key upgrades over the 40MXP include a completely reimagined aft area featuring fold-down terraces and a full-beam beach club lounge with direct sea access. A large pool sits forward on the main deck, while the expansive upper and sundecks offer flexible configurations for tender storage, sports equipment, or social use.

Inside, interiors are by Hot Lab and designed to reflect a relaxed, elegant Mediterranean aesthetic. The yacht accommodates up to 12 guests in six cabins, supported by a crew of up to eight. With twin MAN 1,450hp engines and a 6,000-nautical-mile range at 9 knots, the 47MXP is tailored for extended, sun-soaked cruising with a stronger emphasis on space, comfort, and long-term autonomy than its smaller sibling.

With its enhanced outdoor living spaces and long-range capability, the new 40MXP sets a fresh benchmark for modern explorer yachts. Positioned between the proven 37XP and the larger 47MXP, it gives buyers a versatile new option in Numarine’s growing Mediterranean Explorer lineup.
