50m Custom Feadship Superyacht Graycliffs Delivered

The 50m superyacht Graycliffs has been delivered, marking the latest stage in a closely watched project that remained largely concealed throughout construction.

Recently spotted in Portsmouth, Graycliffs' naval architecture and exterior design come from De Voogt, with interiors by Marty Lowe. The new Feadship vessel sits just under the 500GT threshold at 499GT and was developed for an experienced repeat yacht owner.

A refined custom platform

Graycliffs is a fully custom project rather than part of a production platform, and that custom character is clear in both her profile and deck arrangement. At 49.5 meters, the yacht occupies the upper edge of Feadship’s sub-50m segment while staying below the 500GT line, a balance that often appeals to owners seeking serious volume without stepping into a larger operational bracket.

Her exterior carries many of the visual cues associated with recent De Voogt work. The bow is near vertical, the superstructure sits low and stretched, and the glazing runs in a long, dark band that emphasizes length. The result is a yacht with a taut, controlled profile rather than an aggressive one, keeping the lines clean and the mass low over the water.

Construction was carried out in aluminum for both hull and superstructure, with the yacht built to Lloyd’s Register standards. Principal dimensions include an 8.9-meter beam and a 2.25-meter draft, giving her the proportions for both long-range cruising and a substantial interior volume within a relatively restrained footprint.

Exterior layout focused on open-air use

One of Graycliffs’ strongest features is the way her outdoor areas have been arranged. Rather than treating the aft deck as a formal transition zone, the design gives it real weight as a destination in its own right.

On the main deck aft, fold-down bulwarks open the terrace outward and increase the sense of width at anchor. This space connects directly to the beach club area and is centered around a glass-fronted pool or Jacuzzi, depending on how the feature is described across the project material. Either way, the idea is consistent - a social deck close to the water, with seating and dining kept within easy reach.

That same logic continues further up the yacht. The sundeck carries a secondary helm station, relaxed seating, a barbecue, bar, and a dining table sized for up to 14 guests. This is a serious entertaining deck, but it does not appear overcrowded with fixed elements. The bridge deck aft adds another layer, with lounge space and an open-air cinema that gives the yacht a more informal evening setting than a standard alfresco deck alone.

Interiors designed for clarity and comfort

Inside, Marty Lowe’s design approach moves away from visual heaviness. Renderings and published details point to a pared-back interior with soft tones, bright lighting, and stone or granite-like paneling used to add texture without making the rooms feel dense.

That restraint suits the yacht well. Graycliffs has a relatively modest gross tonnage for her length, so keeping the palette light helps preserve openness across the main saloon and guest circulation areas. Large windows also play a major role, particularly on the main deck, where they bring daylight deep into the interior and maintain a strong relationship with the sea outside.

Guest accommodation is arranged for 10 across five cabins, with the owner given the most prominent position on the yacht. The full-beam main deck suite includes floor-to-ceiling windows, a walk-in wardrobe, lounge seating, a private study, and an en suite finished in marble. The scale of the suite means it functions as more than a sleeping cabin - it acts as a proper owner’s apartment within the yacht.

Advanced electric drive and transoceanic range

Graycliffs also stands out on the technical side. She uses a diesel-electric propulsion package developed through Feadship’s Advanced Electrical Drive program, with azimuthing thrusters handling both propulsion and steering. The setup is intended to reduce drag while improving maneuverability, efficiency, and onboard comfort.

Power comes from John Deere gensets backed by a 100kWh battery bank, which supports hotel loads and quieter operation during lower-demand periods. Performance figures place her top speed at 15 knots, with a cruising speed of 10 knots and a reported range of around 4,000 nautical miles at that pace. Fuel capacity is listed at 51,100 liters, underlining her ability to undertake more serious passages than many yachts in the same general size category.

Buyer Opportunity: Smaller Graycliffs remains for sale

The arrival of this new 49.5-meter Graycliffs also puts fresh attention on the smaller Feadship of the same name. That earlier Graycliffs, delivered in 2016, remains on the brokerage market and is currently listed with Feadship Resale and Edmiston following a recent price reduction, with an asking price of $16,900,000.

The earlier yacht is markedly smaller at around 34 meters, but the link between the two is still interesting. Both carry a lean, elegant profile and sit within the broader Feadship world, though the new build moves into a far more contemporary custom bracket with greater volume, range, and technical ambition. As a paired story, the two yachts suggest a clear step forward - not just in size, but in how the owner’s priorities have evolved from a capable earlier Feadship to a far more tailored long-range platform.

Graycliffs is listed for sale on YachtBuyer and is currently asking $16,900,000.

With delivery now complete, Graycliffs adds another finished project to Feadship’s current run of major custom builds and gives the yard a new sub-50m flagship that feels carefully judged in both design and purpose.
