The refit, which took place at the Dutch builder’s Groot Ammers facility, focused on restoring the yacht’s signature curves, luxurious finishes, and mechanical systems, with meticulous attention to detail throughout.
Restoring the Zeelander Hull
The 14m (44-foot) boat for sale underwent an extensive paint restoration, starting with a complete strip-back of the hull to the original fairing compound. After careful repairs and refinishing, the hull was treated with a Hullguard layer, then primed with Awlgrip 545. Three layers of Awlgrip FE in Rolls Royce titanium were applied to match the yacht’s original livery, followed by three layers of clear coat for a flawless finish. This painstaking process brought the Z44’s distinctive curves back to their former glory, showcasing the craftsmanship that defines the Zeelander brand.

Mechanically, the yacht’s twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines and drives were rebuilt to zero hours, despite having only 500 hours of previous use. This involved removing the pods entirely for a comprehensive overhaul, ensuring the propulsion system is now covered by a full factory warranty. The refit extended beyond aesthetics, restoring the yacht’s performance capabilities to as-new condition.
Rejuvenated Interiors
The Z44’s cherry wood interior, a hallmark of Zeelander’s craftsmanship, was still in excellent shape and required only a deep clean to restore its original shine. The cockpit’s pommele table and much of the internal upholstery also remained in remarkable condition, highlighting the durability of the original materials.
For a modern update, the upholstery onboard the yacht for sale was redone in diamond-stitched Silvertex, now in a fresh ice-white tone that complements the exterior. The decks were deep-cleaned and recaulked, while detailed cleaning across all surfaces has revived the yacht’s overall presentation.

While the Z44 is no longer in production, Zeelander’s current lineup continues the brand’s tradition of timeless design, attention to detail, and distinctive curves across four models, ranging from 15 to 24 meters.
The Zeelander 5, at 15m, is a sleek weekender with retro styling, a semi-customizable layout, and space for four guests in two cabins, offering a 31-knot top speed for relaxed yet capable cruising. The 17m Zeelander 6 provides a three-cabin layout for up to six guests, with a panoramic wheelhouse and the brand’s signature quiet, smooth ride.
The 22m Zeelander 7 is a longer-range cruiser with three cabins, a 40-knot top speed, and a distinctive curved profile that pairs superyacht comfort with sport cruiser performance. At 24m, the YachtBuyer reviewed Zeelander 8 crowns the range with space for nine guests and four crew, offering expansive wraparound windows, a retractable sunroof, and a beam of over 6 meters for an impressive sense of openness.
