First Look: Secretive 102m Lürssen Superyacht Jassi Revealed at Launch

The 102.4m superyacht Jassi has been launched from Lürssen’s facilities in Rendsburg, Germany, marking a major milestone for one of the largest yachts currently under construction in Northern Europe.

Previously known during build as Project JASSJ, the Lürssen yacht now enters the final phase ahead of her scheduled delivery in 2026.

Glass-heavy superstructure and tiered decks

Early images from the launch reveal a profile that aligns closely with Lürssen’s established design language. A pronounced flared bow leads into a long, clean sheerline, with sweeping deck lines that rise gradually toward the stern. The yacht’s grey hull is offset by a black boot stripe close to the waterline, reinforcing her length and low visual stance.

Extensive use of curved glass defines the superstructure, with dark glazing wrapping each deck level to create a layered effect against the metallic hull finish. From above, the deck arrangement reveals a series of stepped terraces descending toward a substantial beach club at the waterline.

The forward deck is topped by a helipad, while the upper decks are configured for panoramic views, with protected lounges and open observation areas beneath a sculpted radar arch. A swimming pool, expansive sun deck, and multiple outdoor living zones are expected to form the core of her exterior amenities.

Naval architecture has been developed in-house by Lürssen, while both interior and exterior design are by RWD. The project has been constructed in compliance with Lloyd’s Register technical standards and spans four decks, with a gross tonnage exceeding 3,400 GT. She measures 102.4 meters in length, carries a 15-meter beam, and draws 3.9 meters, placing her firmly in the large-volume category for yachts of this size.

Five-year build reaches public launch stage

Construction on Jassi began in 2021, with the project first announced at the Monaco Yacht Show that year. She was technically launched into the Kiel Canal in December 2023, a process that involved transferring the hull before full systems installation. The recent launch from Rendsburg marks her first full public appearance since that technical milestone.

The yacht is being managed by Moran Yacht & Ship, which also oversaw the project’s technical specification and build coordination. The sale was concluded in 2021, with the yacht reportedly built for a Canadian owner.

Measuring 102.4 meters, Jassi sits firmly in gigayacht territory, a size range where volume, crew scale, and onboard systems step up significantly from smaller large yachts. For a clear breakdown of how yachts are grouped into superyacht, megayacht, and gigayacht categories, see YachtBuyer’s Superyachts, Megayachts and Gigayachts size guide.

High-volume interior planned for private use

Although no interior imagery been released, Jassi is reported to accommodate up to 20 guests in 10 staterooms. The layout reflects her significant internal volume, with large public spaces expected across the main and upper decks.

Crew accommodation is understood to support a complement of approximately 37, consistent with yachts of this scale and complexity. Amenities reported during the build phase include a large beach club, gym facilities, and extensive wellness and leisure spaces, though final details remain under wraps until closer to delivery.

Position within the YB100 and global rankings

On delivery, Jassi will join the YachtBuyer YB100, where yachts are ranked by gross tonnage rather than length. With a volume of 3,420 GT, at the time of writing, she will enter the list at 76th position, sitting between Norn at 3,491 GT and IJE at 3,367 GT. This placement puts her firmly among the world’s highest-volume private yachts, despite being shorter than several vessels ranked below her by length alone.

Jassi will sit just under the 3,491GT superyacht Norn in the YB100, also by Lurssen

Jassi’s entry further strengthens Lürssen’s presence in the YB100, which already includes some of the largest yachts ever built, such as the 145m Flying Fox, currently one of the highest-volume yachts in the world at 9,022 GT.

By contrast, in the traditional Top 100 by length, Jassi will rank 64th, positioned between the 102.6m Ulysses and the 101.5m Symphony, while also joining iconic Lurssen builds like the 91m Ice. Although these yachts sit close together by length, their internal volumes differ sharply, which underlines why gross tonnage provides a clearer picture of real scale and onboard complexity than length alone.

Jassi joins Lürssen’s largest active projects

Jassi’s launch comes during an active period for Lürssen’s large-yacht division. According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, the German shipyard currently has several yachts over 100 meters under construction. This includes Project Defy and Project Omega, reinforcing its dominant position at the very top end of the market.

Her launch also follows recent reports of the 110m Lürssen new build O3 entering sea trials, underlining the scale and pace of activity across the yard’s German facilities.
