Fourth Mangusta 165 REV Yacht Hits the Water in Italy

The fourth Mangusta 165 REV motor yacht has been launched at Overmarine Group’s Viareggio facility in Italy.

Due for delivery in 2026, the 50m Mangusta 165 REV features exterior and interior design by Lobanov Design, with naval architecture developed in-house by Mangusta.

Sculpted Profile, Sub-500 GT Volume

Built entirely in GRP with a semi-displacement hull and superstructure, the Mangusta yacht measures 50m in length with a 9.2m beam and 2m draft. Her internal volume stands at 499 GT, placing her just below the 500 gross ton threshold that often shapes design and regulatory parameters in this segment.

The exterior profile reinterprets Mangusta’s established open-yacht DNA. Long horizontal glazing lines, sculpted surfaces, and a low, aggressive stance give the yacht a dynamic silhouette, while structural engineering in advanced composites supports both weight control and performance targets.

The model previously reached the finals at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards in the Outstanding Exterior Motor Yacht Design category for yachts between 40m and 59.9m, underscoring the design pedigree behind the platform.

A Two-Level Owner’s Suite

The interiors of the yacht were developed by Lobanov Design in collaboration with architect Marcello Pianosi of POM Home. As with previous units in the series, the layout is fully custom, tailored to the owner’s brief.

Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests across six suites. The owner’s suite is positioned on the main deck and spans two levels, integrated directly into the hull structure. Mangusta describes it as one of the largest master suites available on a yacht under 499 GT. The arrangement creates a sense of separation from the guest areas while retaining proximity to the main deck social spaces.

Five additional guest cabins are located on the lower deck of the motor yacht, including a full-beam VIP suite. Crew quarters for up to nine are arranged across five cabins, supporting both private cruising and charter operations.

Quad-MTU Power with Water Jets

The fourth Mangusta 165 REV is powered by four diesel engines - specified on this hull as MTU 16V 2000 M96L units rated at 2,000hp each - driving Kongsberg-Kamewa water jets. The configuration delivers a reported top speed of 34 knots, with a cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum range of approximately 650 nautical miles.

According to the shipyard, ongoing hull and propulsion optimization across the series has led to a fuel consumption reduction of around 30 percent compared to earlier generations of the line. Water jet propulsion remains central to the superyacht’s performance profile, supporting high-speed capability with controlled vibration levels and responsive handling.

The second Mangusta 165 REV yacht No Rush is on the market Royal Yacht International and is currently asking €33,500,000. The in-build fifth Mangusta 165 REV yacht is also on the market with the shipyard and has a price upon request
