The handover of the seventh Moonen 122 Martinique yacht took place in Hellevoetsluis, the Netherlands. Built for an experienced American owner, Ad Astra is now bound for the Caribbean to begin her first cruising season.
Clean Lines, Open Decks, and Ocean Views
The Martinique line’s signature horizontal styling is evident in Ad Astra’s profile, with large sections of dark glazing running along the main and bridge decks. The clean lines and slim railings give the superyacht a purposeful, uncluttered look.
We are proud to see AD ASTRA begin her next chapter and look forward to following her journeys across the world’s oceans.

A series of open terraces connect each deck to the sea, offering options for alfresco dining, lounging, and unobstructed ocean views. The sundeck, complete with a Jacuzzi and shaded observation area, underscores the yacht’s emphasis on outdoor living. At the stern, a hydraulic swim platform provides effortless access to the water.
Hollander’s Refined Vision for Onboard Living
Hollander Yacht Design shaped the yacht’s interior around a calm, refined palette that mixes natural textures with sculptural details. Light tay wood, Jacquard wall panels, and dark walnut accents form the foundation, complemented by polished metal trims and onyx countertops.
Large windows and generous ceiling heights enhance the feeling of openness throughout the main saloon, dining area, and guest spaces. The interior detailing, from crema marble bathrooms to carved stone basins, reinforces the balance of craftsmanship and restraint. Every space on board the motor yacht has been tailored to reflect the owner’s lifestyle, with the in-house Moonen team adjusting key elements during the final build stages to achieve a cohesive, bespoke finish.
Ad Astra accommodates up to ten guests across five cabins, supported by a crew of seven. The owner’s suite occupies a forward position on the main deck, with full-height windows and a spacious private bathroom.
Powered by twin Caterpillar C-32 diesel engines producing a combined 3,850 horsepower, Ad Astra reaches a top speed of 17 knots and cruises comfortably at 14 knots. Her 35,000-liter fuel capacity delivers a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, offering long-range autonomy suited to global cruising.
How Ad Astra Became the Owner’s Vision
Originally known as Martinique 07, the yacht’s steel hull was constructed at Talsma Shipyards in 2023 before joining its aluminum superstructure at Moonen’s Den Bosch facility in early 2024. The project evolved through close collaboration between the shipyard and the owner, who stepped in partway through construction to customize the layout and key lifestyle features.
Among the modifications were the addition of the sundeck Jacuzzi and personalized interior detailing to align the onboard aesthetic with the client’s vision. The yacht was launched in September 2025 and completed her sea trials shortly before delivery.
Project Manager Ian Vermoen added that the delivery marked “a moment of celebration for all involved,” highlighting the dedication of Moonen’s team across engineering, carpentry, and outfitting disciplines.
From December, she will also be available for charter with IYC, bringing Moonen’s Dutch craftsmanship to the region’s warm waters.
