Eighth Baglietto T52 Superyacht Marsa Luna Launched in La Spezi

Italian shipyard Baglietto has launched the 52m superyacht Marsa Luna, marking another milestone for the yard’s hybrid-led development program.

The launch of the Baglietto T52 took place in December at Baglietto’s facilities in La Spezia, attended by the shipyard’s senior management and the owner’s representatives, including Kirill Kuatov of NAU Yachts and Aberton Yachts.

Hybrid propulsion with extended at-anchor capability

Hull number 10253 is the second T52 to be equipped with an upgraded hybrid propulsion system, developed to support multiple operating modes depending on usage profile and efficiency requirements. In electric mode, Marsa Luna can remain at anchor for up to around 12 hours using battery power alone, a feature increasingly valued by owners prioritizing quiet operation in anchorages and reduced generator use.

In conventional navigation mode, the yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, delivering a top speed of 16 knots and a range of approximately 4,500 nautical miles. This dual setup gives the owner flexibility, with the option to switch between traditional propulsion and hybrid operation depending on itinerary and operating conditions.

Exterior design rooted in proportion and function

The T52 platform was penned by Francesco Paszkowski Design, whose work across the series has focused on soft lines and balanced volumes rather than aggressive styling cues. Marsa Luna retains the same architectural language that has come to define the line, with a low, elongated profile and a strong emphasis on aft deck living.

From an exterior standpoint, the design prioritizes usable space and circulation over visual statements alone. The result is a yacht that reads as contemporary without feeling transient, built around proportions intended to hold up across years of ownership rather than seasonal trends.

The open stern remains one of the most recognizable elements of the T52 design. On Marsa Luna, this area is arranged as a three-level beach club, reinforcing the yacht’s connection to the water and creating a natural focal point for life on board. The tiered layout supports both active use and relaxed lounging, with direct access to the sea and flexible space for tenders and water toys.

One of the defining features of the T52 series is the main deck pool, positioned aft and integrated into the open stern concept. On Marsa Luna, the pool is fitted with a movable floor system that can be raised flush with the surrounding deck when not in use. This pop-up mechanism increases usable deck area and allows the space on board the superyacht to shift between swimming, sunbathing, and social use depending on the day’s program.

Above, the upper deck is characterized by large windows opening on three sides, forming a sheltered lounge that remains usable across a range of weather conditions. This semi-enclosed arrangement reflects the series’ practical mindset, giving owners and guests a protected social area without fully enclosing the deck.

The sundeck, stretching close to 24 meters in length, continues to stand out as one of Baglietto’s signature features on the T52. Its scale supports multiple zones for lounging, dining, and relaxation, while maintaining clear circulation and sightlines. Rather than a single-purpose sunpad deck, the layout is structured for full-day use underway or at anchor.

Owner-led interior planning for extended cruising

Internally, Marsa Luna follows the contemporary layout that defines the T52 series, with volumes organized to support comfort over extended periods on board. While interior design details remain private and were developed in collaboration with the owner’s team, Baglietto has emphasized that the yacht was conceived around functionality and day-to-day livability rather than visual impact alone.

This approach aligns with feedback gathered across earlier T52 deliveries, where owners favored layouts that support privacy, crew efficiency, and practical storage alongside generous guest spaces. The result is a motor yacht that can adapt to varied cruising profiles, from private family use to extended seasonal itineraries.

Although guest accommodation details have not been formally released by the yard, sisterships in the series typically house up to 12 guests across six staterooms, supported by professional crew quarters designed for long-range operation.

The New Baglietto DOM155

The yard also recently announced the DOM155 as the new flagship of its DOM series, extending the platform to 46.9m while remaining below the 500 GT threshold. Developed in response to sustained owner demand, the model targets clients seeking increased volume and deck space without stepping into higher tonnage categories.

Built in aluminum, the DOM155 retains the residential layout philosophy established by the smaller DOM models, with expanded exterior living areas, a full-beam owner’s suite forward, and a stern focused on wellness and water access.

With Marsa Luna now in the water, the T52 series continues to underline Baglietto’s focus on hybrid propulsion, practical layouts, and long-range cruising. The launch also sits within a wider period of activity for the yard, as Baglietto expands its lineup with larger platforms such as the DOM155.
