The new Chris-Craft model retains the closed-bow configuration associated with the Corsair while introducing a redesigned helm, integrated Garmin technology and a choice of Mercury and Volvo power options.
Closed teak foredeck brings back the Corsair profile
Central to the design of the Corsair 27 is its enclosed foredeck, distinguishing the model from the open-bow layouts found on many contemporary dayboats. Chris-Craft has covered the foredeck in teak, creating an uninterrupted forward profile while incorporating storage beneath. Measuring 8.4m in length with a 2.5m beam, the new model retains the closed-bow identity of the Corsair while updating its design and equipment for its return to the Chris-Craft range.
Redesigned cockpit puts greater emphasis on social space
Changes continue aft of the yacht, with a redesigned helm and seating arrangement. Wider seating surfaces, additional cushioning and integrated stainless-steel grab handles have been introduced, while the helm seats can rotate aft to become part of the cockpit seating area. Buyers can also specify equipment including a teak cockpit table, drawer-style cockpit refrigerator, premium audio system, underwater lights and a teak engine hatch with sunpad. A swim platform and freshwater system with transom shower are also included among the listed equipment.
Garmin technology brings controls into one interface
The helm centres around a Garmin 15-inch ultrawide display with a Chris-Craft user interface, while the manufacturer's information also lists Garmin digital switching. The setup integrates navigation with functions including lighting, power management and system monitoring. A separate seven-inch Garmin port helm display is available as an option, alongside equipment including trim tabs, docking lights and a stainless-steel anchor and windlass.
Concealed Bimini preserves the low-profile design
Chris-Craft has integrated the Bimini into concealed storage to limit its visual impact when it is not required. A manually operated Bimini is standard, while an optional powered version uses a marinized actuator and a two-step, one-touch deployment system. Buyers can further tailor the sportsboat through Standard, Heritage Trim and Heritage editions. The Heritage Trim Edition introduces additional teak across areas including the engine hatch walkover, foredeck, helm footrests, swim platform and aft grab rails, while the Heritage Edition adds a full teak floor.
Mercury and Volvo engines offer up to 430hp
The Corsair 27 is offered with Mercury and Volvo V8 sterndrive engines ranging from 300hp to a maximum of 430hp. The standard installation is a 300hp Mercury 6.2-litre V8 with digital throttle and shift, with 350hp, 380hp and 430hp Mercury alternatives available. Volvo choices similarly range from 300hp to 430hp.
The Corsair 27 has a 21-degree deadrise and carries 261.2 litres of fuel and 49.2 litres of freshwater. Dry weight with the 380hp Mercury installation is listed at 2,803kg, rising to a loaded displacement of 3,963kg. Draft ranges from 0.51m with the drive raised to 0.94m with it lowered. Pricing for the new Corsair 27 starts from $233,500.
