The yacht is part of the Archipelago A80 series, a 24-metre model developed by Archipelago Yachts around a Chartwell Marine hull form engineered for efficient long-range cruising.
A more advanced evolution of the Archipelago A80 platform
The yacht builds on the design direction established by the original Archipelago A80, a model developed around efficiency, versatility and extended-range cruising within the sub-24m category. Retaining the rugged explorer styling and proven Chartwell Marine hull form, the new yacht introduces several refinements intended to expand the platform’s operational capability while offering owners a higher level of customisation. Archipelago Yachts has also brought interior design fully in-house for the first time, allowing the builder greater control over layout integration, engineering coordination and owner-led personalisation throughout the build process.
Expedition-focused features tailored for long-range cruising
The motor yacht is designed for owners prioritising extended time on board, the second Archipelago A80 places greater emphasis on autonomy, comfort and expedition versatility than the original concept. The revised arrangement introduces wellness areas including a sauna and gym, while expanded provisioning and dining spaces have been developed to better support remote cruising itineraries. A strengthened helideck also broadens the yacht’s operational capability, complementing the explorer platform’s focus on carrying larger equipment loads and supporting life away from traditional marina infrastructure.
Flexible accommodation meets a more personalised interior approach
Accommodation onboard the new explorer yacht has been configured for up to 16 guests, with the overall arrangement remaining highly customisable depending on owner requirements. Archipelago’s decision to handle the interiors internally enables a more cohesive relationship between technical systems and living spaces. The design approach is expected to focus on practicality for extended voyages while introducing a more refined and tailored onboard atmosphere than seen on the original concept.
Hybrid propulsion and payload capability shape the yacht’s explorer credentials
The boat will feature a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system developed to support efficient long-distance cruising and reduced-emission operation. Designed with substantial payload capacity and expedition-focused engineering, the platform has been developed to operate comfortably across remote cruising regions while supporting additional toys, tenders and onboard equipment. The yacht is currently in its detailed design phase, with construction scheduled to begin in 2027.
The final asking price of the second Archipelago A80 explorer yacht has not been disclosed.
