Third Amels 80 Superyacht Project Zurich Launched in Vlissingen

The 80m superyacht Project Zurich has been launched at the Damen Yachting facility in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, and will now move to the yard’s main headquarters in Vlissingen City for final outfitting ahead of delivery later this year.

As the third hull in the Amels 80 series, her recent launch marks her first full appearance quayside since arriving for outfitting.

Espen Øino Lines

Like her sisterships, Project Zurich features exterior styling by Espen Øino International, with naval architecture developed in-house by Damen Yachting.

The Amels 80 profile is defined by clean lines, long overhangs, and expansive glazing. The layout prioritizes volume and exterior deck space within an 80-meter platform with a gross tonnage of 2,175GT. While the technical base remains consistent across the series, each yacht carries distinct design choices shaped by the owner’s brief.

Project Zurich’s interior has been created by an award-winning design team, though the studio remains confidential. The yard has described the aesthetic as bright and fully customized, differentiating her from earlier hulls in the series.

Social Spaces Anchored by 6.5m Glass Pool

Among the defining features of the Amels yacht is a 6.5-meter glass-bottomed swimming pool positioned on the main deck aft. The pool doubles as a skylight for the beach club below, channeling natural light into the lower-level leisure area.

The beach club opens on three sides, creating direct water access and a strong indoor-outdoor connection at sea level. Within this space, the yacht incorporates a dedicated wellness area, including a gym, hammam, and sauna. The configuration places spa facilities close to the waterline, reinforcing the leisure focus of the lower deck.

Launching our third Amels 80 marks an important milestone for everyone involved. Yachts of this scale require meticulous planning, craftsmanship and close coordination across our teams, together with the Owner’s representative."

Above, the sun deck provides further guest amenities, including a large Jacuzzi and multiple lounging areas. Across the series, this deck has become a central social zone, designed for both private use and larger gatherings.

The superyacht accommodates up to 14 guests in seven suites. The master suite occupies a dedicated owner’s deck, a layout feature that enhances privacy and separation from guest circulation areas.

Sustained Demand for the Amels 80 Series

As the third hull in the Amels 80 line, Project Zurich reinforces the trajectory of the series since its debut. The first motor yacht has already been delivered, while the second hull, Netto II, recently entered the water with a custom dolphin blue metallic hull finish.

The ability to tailor interiors and selected exterior details within a defined engineering framework continues to shape buyer interest. For the yard, the concurrent outfitting of two Amels 80s marks a visible stage in the evolution of the program.

Project Zurich will now progress through final outfitting and sea trials in the Netherlands before delivery later this year, adding another completed hull to the expanding Amels 80 fleet.
