The first Princess X90 has now reached a key construction milestone, with the deck, canopy, and hardtop structures successfully installed - this step opens full access for the next phase of fit-out, which is already well underway. Three X90's are currently in build, with a fourth hull set to enter production shortly
First X Class cockpit designed as a true beach club
One of the most significant developments introduced with the X90 is its expandable beach club-style cockpit, a first for Princess. Fold-down terraces to port and starboard extend the aft deck footprint when deployed, transforming the cockpit of the yacht into a wide waterside platform with direct contact to the sea.
Aft, an infinity-style glass transom replaces a conventional solid structure, opening up uninterrupted views while reinforcing the sense of space.
The X90 combines groundbreaking features such as the Super Flybridge and fold-down terraces that transform the cockpit into a spectacular shaded beach club."

Glass parapets around the seating area maintain sightlines without compromising safety. The result is a cockpit that feels closer to a dedicated beach club than a traditional flybridge yacht aft deck, with both open-air and shaded areas that support relaxed, day-long use at anchor.
Curved patio doors reshape main deck flow
The X90 continues the Princess X Class focus on exterior connection through a layout that prioritizes fluid movement between interior and exterior spaces.
Curved patio doors link the main deck dining area directly to the cockpit, creating a natural extension of the saloon when open. In practice, this arrangement turns the formal dining space into an alfresco setting without breaking visual continuity.
The aft main deck layout has been opened up further compared to earlier models, reinforcing sightlines aft and drawing natural light deep into the interior. Together with the glass transom, this configuration creates a continuous visual flow from the saloon to the water, strengthening the yacht’s overall sense of openness.
The Super Flybridge as a volume driver
A defining element of the X90 is the X Class Super Flybridge arrangement, which relocates the primary helm to an enclosed skylounge on the upper level. This elevated helm position frees up significant volume on the main deck, enabling more flexible guest spaces below.
On the flybridge itself, the enclosed helm and skylounge sit alongside a generous open-air deck, offering both protected and exposed zones depending on conditions. Sliding doors separate the helm from the exterior seating areas, providing operational separation without isolating the helmsman from guest spaces on board the motor yacht.
This configuration has become a hallmark of the X Class range and remains central to how the X90 delivers increased usable volume without moving into a larger length category.
A new hull platform developed with Olesinski
The X90 also introduces a new hull form for Princess Yachts, the Hybrid Progressive-Planing hull, developed in partnership with Olesinski. The design is engineered to perform efficiently across a wide speed range, balancing low-speed economy with confident planing performance.
According to the yard, the X90 requires around 10 percent less power above 16 knots than the Princess Y85 when displacement is normalized, despite being approximately 18 tonnes heavier. Below 10 knots, fuel consumption matches that of the Y85, highlighting the efficiency gains delivered by the new hull geometry.
The hull supports a reported top speed of up to 28 knots, with power options from MAN, positioning the X90 as a capable fast cruiser as well as a comfortable long-range platform.
Where the Princess X90 sits within the X Class range
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the world's largest yacht database, the Princess X class now spans three models currently in production. Within the X Class lineup, the X90 occupies a clear middle ground between the speed-led X80 and the volume-driven X95 Vista. The Princess X80 remains the most performance-focused of the three, pairing a 30-knot top end with an enclosed flybridge and an unusually dense accommodation plan for a 25m platform.

ON BOARDPrincess X80 Review (2022 Edition)
Its five-cabin potential, elevated salon execution, and ease of handling earned it a flawless YachtBuyer 5 Star score, securing its upcoming induction into the YachtBuyer Hall of Fame at boot Düsseldorf 2026 - recognition reserved for yachts that deliver across design, layout, helming, deck use, and long-term value under independent sea trial conditions.
At the opposite end, the Princess X95 Vista prioritizes interior scale and visual openness over outright speed. Its near full-length decks, extensive glazing, and slower cruising profile suit owners focused on extended time aboard and relaxed passage-making, with less emphasis on fast transits or cockpit-led living.
The X90 bridges these two approaches. It carries more physical presence and aft-deck flexibility than the X80, introduces a true beach club-style cockpit absent from both siblings, and retains stronger performance intent than the X95. For those drawn to the X Class concept but seeking a broader balance between pace, outdoor living, and onboard volume, the X90 defines a distinct third path within the range.
