Originally delivered by Trinity Yachts in 2006 to a design by Geoff Van Aller with interiors by Ricky Smith Designs, the vessel is undergoing scheduled maintenance and renewal at the yard’s Tuzla facility in Istanbul.
A Fourth Consecutive Year at Reviva Refit
Grand Rusalina arrived at the Turkish facility in late December 2025 and was hauled out on January 6, 2026, marking the start of her latest refit period. The works are scheduled to conclude with a launch on April 7 and final delivery on April 22.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that the 60m superyacht has returned to Reviva Refit for maintenance. The ongoing relationship between the vessel’s management team and the shipyard has helped establish a consistent working process, with yard engineers already familiar with the yacht’s technical systems and service history.
According to the shipyard, the continuity has helped streamline the planning and execution of works, enabling the refit teams to address both scheduled servicing and targeted upgrades with greater precision.
Planned Works for the 2026 Maintenance Period
Project R11.4 focuses on maintaining the explorer yacht’s operational reliability while refreshing key interior and exterior areas. The works span mechanical servicing, classification requirements, and cosmetic improvements.
Major technical elements of the refit include a comprehensive overhaul of the yacht’s engine systems and auxiliary machinery, along with inspection and servicing of valves across all systems. The project also incorporates the vessel’s five-year RINA classification survey, ensuring continued compliance and certification. Structural and exterior improvements form another major part of the program. The yacht is receiving a full exterior hull repaint, intended to restore both protection and appearance following years of active service.
Interior and exterior soft furnishings are also being refreshed as part of the works. All outdoor upholstery is being renewed, while selected interior areas - including guest cabins and the main salon - are receiving updated soft furnishings. These works are being carried out by Reviva Refit’s specialist teams in close coordination with the yacht’s captain and technical management team, a collaborative approach aimed at keeping the schedule on track while maintaining operational standards.
Grand Rusalina’s Design and Capabilities
Grand Rusalina was built by American shipyard Trinity Yachts as a long-range expedition yacht. Constructed with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, she measures 59.6m in length and carries a gross tonnage of approximately 966 GT.
The motor yacht was designed with exploration in mind and offers a transoceanic cruising capability, with a reported range of around 6,000 nautical miles. Accommodation on board is arranged for up to 16 guests across eight staterooms, supported by crew quarters and operational areas suited to extended voyages.
Interior spaces were designed by Ricky Smith Designs, with a layout centered on guest comfort and practical long-distance cruising.
Grand Rusalina is powered by twin Caterpillar engines, which deliver a cruising speed of around 12 knots and a top speed of approximately 15 knots. Her long-range design and robust engineering make her well suited to extended cruising programs, particularly in remote regions where reliability and endurance are critical.
Several Superyachts Currently in Refit
The arrival of Grand Rusalina comes during a busy period for Reviva Refit, which continues to expand its portfolio of refit and maintenance projects. The facility in Tuzla is equipped to handle superyachts up to 90m and offers dry docking, structural repairs, mechanical servicing, and cosmetic upgrades.
Alongside Grand Rusalina, several other yachts are currently undergoing works at the yard. These include the 48m motor yacht Mirabella, the 40m B121, and the 40m Serenity II, which was originally built by Mengi Yay as the shipyard’s first steel yacht.
With Project R11.4 now underway, Grand Rusalina is expected to return to the water in early April before final delivery later that month, continuing a maintenance partnership that has now entered its fourth year.
