WATCH: Sunreef Yachts and Brabus Reveal New Sunreef Ultima 55 Luxury Catamaran

Sunreef Yachts and Brabus have unveiled the first yacht to emerge from their new partnership, introducing a high-performance luxury catamaran that features advanced foiling technology with distinctive automotive-inspired styling.

Built by Polish shipyard Sunreef Yachts, the new 17m Sunreef Ultima 55 expands the builder's portfolio of luxury power catamarans. Showcasing Sunreef's naval architecture with Brabus' distinctive design identity, the model targets the growing market for high-performance multihulls.

A new direction for luxury performance catamarans

The exclusive model measures 17m in length with a 5.6m beam; the yacht features a lightweight, high-performance multihull platform with an advanced hydrofoil system designed to reduce drag, improve stability and deliver a smoother ride at speed. The collaboration brings together Sunreef's expertise in luxury catamarans with Brabus' distinctive automotive-inspired design language, creating a yacht intended to stand apart from conventional sports cruisers.

Carbon fibre styling meets flexible outdoor living

The exterior is defined by an extensive use of exposed carbon fibre, with signature front and rear wings, illuminated Brabus logos, bespoke roof lighting and a choice of Graphite Black or Phantom Grey finishes. Fold-down side platforms increase the beam from 5.6m to 7.6m when at anchor, creating a larger beach-style entertaining area. Adjustable sunpads, an extendable carbon-fibre dining table, wet bar, electric barbecue and spacious bow sunpad provide multiple areas for relaxing and entertaining on the water.

Brabus-inspired interiors with multiple layout options

Inside the motor yacht, the saloon takes direct inspiration from Brabus supercars, featuring Moonstone Masterpiece leather upholstery, Alcantara headlining, exposed carbon-fibre detailing and bespoke ambient lighting. A widescreen helm integrates navigation and onboard controls into a single interface, while the galley includes premium appliances alongside concealed entertainment features including a retractable 43-inch television and Bowers & Wilkins Marine Series audio system. Owners can choose between a two-cabin layout accommodating four guests or a three-cabin arrangement for up to six guests, with both configurations including separate crew accommodation.

Foiling technology delivers speed and efficiency

Power comes from twin 533kW (725hp) six-cylinder engines, giving the Ultima 55 a top speed in excess of 40 knots. Its hydrofoil system lifts the hulls above the water as speed increases, reducing resistance while improving efficiency, stability and ride comfort. The yacht also carries 1,500 litres of fuel, 330 litres of fresh water and is certified to Category B for up to 12 people.

According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, there are currently 34 Sunreef yachts in the order book, reflecting continued demand for the Polish builder's expanding portfolio of luxury multihulls. Alongside the Ultima 55, the recently launched Sunreef Ultima 88 demonstrates the builder's move into high-performance power catamarans with sustainable construction, while the electric 80 Sunreef Power Eco Catamaran showcases the shipyard's continued investment in solar-assisted propulsion and environmentally focused cruising.
