WATCH: Award-Winning 122m Lürssen Superyacht Kismet Spotted in Gibraltar

Fresh footage published by Gibraltar Yachting shows the 122m superyacht Kismet in Gibraltar, putting one of the most awarded recent deliveries back in the spotlight.

The sighting adds another public appearance to a Lurssen yacht that has drawn sustained attention since her 2024 completion, not only for her scale but for the depth of design, engineering, and onboard features packed into her massive 4,918GT platform.

Built by Lürssen with exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and interiors by Reymond Langton Design, Kismet was delivered in April 2024 after being constructed under the project name Project Jag. Since then, she has built a strong awards record, including Yacht of the Year at the 2025 International Superyacht Society Awards and Motor Yacht of the Year at the 2025 World Superyacht Awards.

A high-profile arrival in a strategic yachting stop

For Gibraltar, a visit from Kismet is the kind of appearance that quickly draws attention. The port sits on one of the busiest passages in global yachting, making it a familiar stop for fuel, logistics, repositioning, and crew movements as yachts transit between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.

In that setting, Kismet is hard to miss. At 122 meters and with a gross tonnage of 4,918GT, her dark metallic hull, elongated bow, and sculpted jaguar figurehead carries the sort of profile that turns a routine passage into a talking point.

A defining Lürssen build

Kismet arrived with a very specific brief and has since emerged as one of the defining yachts of her generation. Lürssen says she was built for a longstanding client, with Moran Yacht & Ship overseeing the project, and the final result pushed heavily into custom yacht territory both inside and below the surface.

Kismet is a yacht built around large-volume living, entertainment, and wellness on a near landmark scale. Her exterior amenities include a certified helipad, multiple fire pits, two spa pools, a winter garden, and a 40-ton mosaic-lined pool with a transparent aft wall. There is also a DJ booth positioned to overlook a large deck party area, which gives some sense of where the owner’s brief was headed from the start.

Technically, one of the headline points is her hybrid propulsion arrangement. Kismet uses a diesel-electric setup with PTI and PTO technology, and Lürssen says the yacht can cruise silently at around seven knots under battery power. That system was a major part of the project story, giving the yacht quieter operation in selected conditions while still supporting the scale and hotel load expected from a vessel carrying 16 guests and a crew of 37. She also posts a top speed of 18 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Inside one of the most detailed recent builds

Inside, Reymond Langton Design took a highly detailed, room-by-room approach rather than leaning on one consistent visual language throughout. The result is a motor yacht that moves from grand formal spaces to more theatrical leisure areas without ever feeling restrained. Among the best-known features are the main salon’s hand-painted de Gournay ceiling, crystal lighting, carved marble detailing, and a sculptural central staircase illuminated by roughly 1,500 lighting components.

Elsewhere, Kismet carries spaces that have become central to her reputation - an underwater lounge with large windows, a full nightclub with an interactive dance floor, and a two-deck master suite with its own private office, Jacuzzi, and dedicated outdoor area. Guest accommodation is spread across 11 suites for up to 20 guests.

The wellness program is another major part of the yacht’s identity. Kismet’s spa includes a hammam, sauna, cryotherapy chamber, cold plunge, massage room, and gym, and that area helped secure the Outstanding Lifestyle Feature award at the 2025 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards.

A yacht that continues to draw global attention

Public appearances have become part of Kismet’s story. Her movements tend to trigger coverage because she sits at the intersection of size, profile, owner notoriety, and recent awards momentum. She currently sits at number 52 in the YachtBuyer YB100 - a list of the worlds bigget yachts ranked by the true measurement of gross tonnage, while other industry rankings track her among the world’s longest yachts as well. However measured, she remains firmly within the top tier of the current fleet.

She also sits within an iconic Lürssen contingent in the YB100, underlining the shipyard’s long-standing weight at the very top of the market. The gorup includes the 136m Hadar (formerly Flying Fox) currently ranked 19 and known for her enormous 9,022GT volume, two-deck spa, and status as one of the most high-profile large yachts of her era; the 123m Al Lusail, ranked 22, with her futuristic H2 Yacht Design exterior and 8,489GT platform; and the 90.1m Ice, ranked 79, a landmark 2005 build that helped push diesel-electric propulsion and low-noise operation further into the spotlight.

Kismet’s latest appearance in Gibraltar further cements her status as one of the most recognizable and closely watched superyachts on the water today.
